And we put our cooler in a big duffel bag...that way you don't have to tape shut the cooler, and the duffel has additional room for more stuff, and handles/straps

I don't think ours would fit in either of our duffles.

Something to think about when shopping for bags and coolers.

We use a 48 quart cooler, fits perfectly in an REI large duffel bag with airline - max 62" total dimensions, and there's still an additional square foot of space in the duffel for more stuff.

I bought this collapsible cooler for last year:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Folds down to about four or 5 inches deep and fit into the bottom of my duffel (actually, there was a zipper pocket below the main pocket in one of my duffels that it fit in, leaving all the space in the top main pocket open) and was able to pile all my stuff on top of it. When I arrived, it opened up to a full size cooler. Love it. One of my best Gorge buys yet.

How well did it work for keeping things cold? We have a cheap-o collapsible cooler (yours looks way better!) that barely keeps ice frozen for a few hours.

I was skeptical on it, as it was my first time using it, so we just used it as the beer cooler to avoid spoiled meat if it failed.

No leaks whatsoever on it, which I think helps. I think we added about a 1/2 bag to a full bag of ice to it every day, which was on par with coolers we used on previous Gorge trips. Beer was frosty all weekend. I will definitely be using it on any future Gorge trips. It is officially Gorge tested.

I'll probably buy a second one too, to avoid buying smaller coolers there for the meat/cheese/produce etc...

Thanks for this awesome thread! Trying it my first time (and coming from the east coast) so I can't tell you how useful this is.

Sorry if someone asked this, but because of warehouse ticketing, I got billed for 2 lawn tickets each of the 3 days instead of 2 three-day passes. When I asked the Warehouse if they would be willing to change these to three-day passes, the said they were "unable."

My rage aside, is there really nothing I can do at this point except to eat the extra cost?

Hm thanks. Guess it was dumb of me to think 'it's most likely I'll get pit, but just in case...'

Think I'm done being a member at this point. I haven't gotten the seats I've tried for in several years, in addition to the quality customer service.

Should've checked with the pros first I guess!

Even though it's a bit nerve wracking tickets always pop up. Last year there was a pretty serious pit drop about a month before (maybe a little less) the shows. And people's plans always change and tickets come up for sale. We've even found pits in the campgrounds.

You're gonna have a hell of a time regardless of where you sit.

Thanks that at least gives me a little hope... and if it's fun either way, I can live with that.

But I have a new problem. Buddy of mine got engaged last Thursday... I invited them on the trip with us a month earlier, told them the dates, but it wasn't a big deal if they couldn't make it.

He said they're planning the wedding for Labor Day weekend. The only weekend in the entire year I care about now. And he asked me to be a groomsman. What the hell!!!???

Have an answer for THAT, Antsmarching?

That Labor Day weekend weddings suck. For everyone.

Seriously I work in the wedding industry and have for almost 8 years. I do not understand why so many people like to get married on a holiday weekend.... Staffers don't want to work.... Prices are jacked up for travel etc

Just curious where re they getting married?

If it's a good friend and they are set on the date maybe you can do alpine or deer creek instead?

Yeah it seems really short-sighted on their part, and while I don't want to blame the girl, she's the one who picked it and started forging ahead getting a church and pianist within a week of the engagement!

Good points. I wish I could tell them it's a bad idea regardless of the concert but I'm sure I'd come off as the villain and wouldn't change anything anyway.

It's out in Akron, Ohio I believe. So tempting over the Gorge (and my first time to the west coast). He is a really good friend though so unless a miracle happens I have little choice but to surrender what would have been the week-long adventure I've been dreaming of for years.

Deer Park and Alpine are venues I'd love to see but at this point I doubt my willpower to sell these tickets AND buy new ones AND plan a whole new trip. At best, I'd probably end up at Camden.

Anyone know why section 103 row 19 are obstructed view tickets? The seats are further in towards the aisle, a few rows behind pit. What's in the way?

    Any help is appreciated

That is a strange one. If those are obstructed view tickets then wouldn't everything else towards the outside aisles be obstructed? Maybe the back corner of the stage behind Boyd would be blocked.

I've never seen "Citi Card Required" this late in the game either. I was looking at N3 at the string of six seats (5 - 10) in 103 row 19, assume that is what you are referring too.

Had seats in 103 on the aisle with 102 last year Sunday, they were great. Section 102 is as wide as the stage, so the 102/103 aisle is in line with the stage wall on Boyd's side, but not an issue at all, I assume that's why they mark them obstructed. Here's some photos:

You're awesome, thanks. I was going to buy three for me and my friends but it's limiting me to two so I guess I'll pass on them.

Hopefully someone else on here will pick them up instead of some scalpers.

I highly recommend the citi double cash rewards card if anyone REALLY wants the tickets :-). 2% cash back on all purchases when you pay your bill. So evrry 1,000 you spend you get 20 back. One of the better cards out there instead of dealing with 5% on various things for certain quarters and expiration etc. This is straight up 2% back on everything, all the time, as long as you pay your balance.

Does regular camping ever sell out here? Should I worry about buying a camping pass soon for an event like Sasquatch?

Yes, camping does sell out for Sasquatch. It does not sell out for the dMb.

And the only reason I know is that they sold out last year and I was shocked. Now, they may have added more staff/honey buckets to accommodate more this year that IDK.

Re: The Gorge Q&A and FAQs

Quick question on Wildhorse camping: I have heard if you buy a pass from someone else that they need to see the original purchasers license upon arrival? Has anyone come across this before? We are hoping to purchase a pass if one turns up!

Yes, you need a copy of their confirmation email and a copy of their photo ID (actual ID number can be blacked out).

And have the seller contact Scott at Wildhorse, letting him know of the change

So, how much food do you guys bring with you versus just buying there at the campground from vendors and inside the gates?

Trying to figure out how to properly "menu plan".... And just how much gear we'll need (stove/grill, pots, pans, etc)...

let's just say no matter how much or how little food you pack, you'll always have too much.

2012: first trip out, brought enough for each meal, ending up barely touching it
2013: brought snacks, a handful of meals, still left with too much food
2014: only brought snacks, still left with excess food

the vendors at the grounds are very good, and reasonable. it all comes down to how much you want to fix yourself/cart in/etc. last year was perfect for us. we had just enough to take the edge off when we needed it, and the vendors are open all day, and usually pretty late after the shows too. gyros, pizza, burgers, fries, sammies, and so on and so forth.
