Let me know when you have the spreadsheet put together - may be interested!

I would love to take a look at that list when you have it. Both for myself and a couple of friends who have much more extensive hip hop collections than I do.

Someone's selling Phish's NYE box, sealed, for $70 on ebay with shipping under $3. Hell of a deal for anyone looking for this

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Phish-Live-a...AAAOSwCU1YnOaU

And the RSD splatter version of Hoist is still on Dry Goods

Got my day of dead box set. The individual lps are beautiful. It will take a long time to listen through them all.

    Damn.

So... what's the sourcing on this? Is it just the SBD I've had forever just pressed onto vinyl, or...?

Unsure, just found out about it. Haven't seen info on the source/mastering/etc yet

Interesting. If it's got a good source I'm gonna have to get this. Hopefully it's not too limited with it being what a weekend or two right after RSD. Or maybe RSD will suck again (best case scenario honestly).

Got in the new all analogue Kevin Gray-cut release of Blind Melon's Soup last night, very nicely pressed, great jacket and sleeve with impeccable artwork; only managed to listen to the first two tracks but sounded fab so far, well done Analog Spark...definintely a label to watch. Hope they do some more 90s titles soon.

That's excellent - did they do the self-titled as well? I have the MOV pressing of the S/T and it sounds good, but not great.

7,700 copies should be enough. It's also being put on CD too so that should help. If I recall correctly, the Capitol Theater release from last year was LP only and 7,700 copies. You can still find it for near MSRP

No they're still very new and only have a few titles under their belt, very wide ranging genres. I would love to see them do the first title, I expect it was recorded to analogue tape given it was produced by Rick Parashar.

Good to know. I'm not sure when I'll have the cash to drop $100 on one release but hopefully it'll be around in a few months when things hopefully slow down some.

I have to agree the Soup reissue is wonderful. The debut was recorded analog(99.9 % sure) so I hope it get's another reissue someday, Analog Sparks seems to be doing things right.

Forgot I signed up for a rewards program with my bank a few years ago and got an email yesterday telling me to redeem my points. I had enough points to get a $100 Amazon gift card. I'm thinking I'm gonna do a little record spending spree with that. I may pick up several of those Prince reissues.

I saw 2 DMB records in the wild today. AFTW double/clear and Mercy b/w #27. I let them both go. Is this the only place to get #27 studio?

AFTW is less than stellar on vinyl; if you aren't attempting to collect all of their albums I wouldn't bother.

As far as a 45s; #27 was a B-side to Funny the Way it Is while Mercy was a single with Gaucho on the B-side

Not sure if anyone here is into the Stereophonics, but their first 5 albums were all reissued on vinyl a couple weeks back. I'm a big fan, particularly of their first 4 records. Picked up 'Performance and Cocktails' over the weekend and it sounds fantastic, nice and dynamic and 'crankable.' Definitely want to get 'Word Gets Around', 'Just Enough Education to Perform', and "You Gotta Go There (To Come Back)"

Ryan Adams Prisoner on vinyl blows away the digital version. It's mastered perfectly by Chris Bellman. It's very clean surface sound, and has a ton of warmth, richness and depth. The digital version sounds like a warbly tape, and is piercing at times to the ear. Very happy with the way the record sounds though and will exclusively listen to it on vinyl.

Did anyone get the End of the World box set? I really only wanted it for the 17 bonus songs and the single versions of the album. Amazing art work on all of those. But at 150 plus shipping I couldn't justify it.

I just listened to Prisoner on Spotify today for the first time and I loved it, will definitely be grabbing the vinyl now.

Any Pittsburgh vinyl collectors in here? I'm going to be moving there in a couple months and need to figure out where to do my shopping. Jerry's is great, and enormous, but it he only carries used and better titles are pretty hard to come by before someone else swipes them at the crack of dawn.

Wondering if any ants from Pittsburgh have any suggestions/recommendations

There are several shops in the 'Burgh, most of them are "The Exchange" all over the city which can be Hit or Miss. Do you know exactly where you will be moving to, like which neighborhood?

I believe it's called Green Tree? South of the city and just outside the Fort-Pitt tunnel

Yes, I know greentree well. My wife and I stayed in a Hampton inn up there a couple weeks back for Greensky Bluegrass show at Rex theatre. Greentree is def just outside tunnel haha, decent place though. From there you should be able to hit most of the best digs, like I said a lot of "the exchange" places and plus there are always strange places to find things...Pittsburgh is a melting pot of culture and the stores reflect that from time to time....like slacker on east carson, out of the blue found some obscure cds from local band/regional band....handnt seen in years and was reasonably priced. Pittsburgh is fun, hope you enjoy yourself. Greentree is a good center stage to plot your course. One last thing! Pittsburgh can be steep, like walking from the river one minute to climbing toward heaven the next steep. Not sure where you're hailing from but just a little heads up. Hope I helped a little, enjoy

    Really appreciate the info!

My fiance has been in Pittsburgh for the past two years doing her doctorate so I am familiar with a few places (and the hills!). For me this is actually a move to a "warmer" climate. I've spent my life living next to 3/5 of the Great Lakes getting pelted by lake effect snow so I am excited to experience what Spring and Fall are like - as opposed to having Winter, more Winter, still Winter, and August
