Rangers have only ever lost in round one 12 times in 62 playoff appearances, making them a very successful playoff team at not going out early. They have also only lost in round one 3 times in their last 10 playoffs. During that run they have gone to 3 ECF and a Stanley Cup final. The last time they won the President’s Trophy they also knocked out the Caps and went to game 7 of the ECF. The Caps still need to win to get in at all. I’ll take and like our chances!

Also, playoff loses don’t really impact me as much as they used to over the years. I don’t watch as much hockey as I once did and I have mostly stopped letting something that I have no control over impact me. It also helps that I don’t have the ability to watch most games. I followed the highlights all year, but was only able to watch 2-3 Rangers games this year. Hopefully I’ll get their games in the playoffs down here.

You know you don't have to go into a multi-paragraph diatribe whenever I give you a friendly ribbing on the Rags, right?

Clearly you have never read through this forum before. I don't really do small comments. I believe a forum is for discussion, and for discussion to take place we need words and paragraphs. Perhaps you are not playoff ready if the Caps do take on the Rangers. Buckle up for some long winded posted every time you comment in here!

I can last 7 games filling up pages...can you?

Self-aware and self-loathing do a lot of overlapping in Philadelphia sports

With the exception of 2018, it's basically been the same for the Caps since.......*checks watch*........their entire history.

Nah, the Rangers could get swept in round 1 and it still would not be as bad as last year was. Already accomplished more than I could have imagined this year. Stanley Cups are almost impossible to win, and I came to terms with the fact that I may never see one for the Rangers. I am really not outcome dependent anymore.

In fact, winning the President's trophy gives the Rangers a built-in excuse now since everyone believes in the curse and expects it after Tampa Bay in 2019 and Boston last year.

It's been 10+ years since we've had a successfully SC winner from the PT ranks. Could be the year for quite the bet.

At this point I'd rather the Kings play the Oilers than the Stars. They will get swept with the Stars and at least we know we'll get another good series against Oilers. Maybe redemption. They need to win their last game and Vegas need to lose at least 1 of the next 2 for them to stay in the 3rd spot and face the Oilers.
