I do not, but I may pick it up on your recommendation. My understanding was that none of the existing Tool vinyl sounds particularly great, so I had resolved to wait and hope for a remaster of the whole catalog. But maybe I made that decision before Fear Innoculum was released. Excited to pick this one up now, and hopefully the rest of their albums very soon.

It's a lot less compressed and warmer than digital/CD.

Fear Inoculum was recorded to tape. Bob Ludwig did the master for the digital/cd version and Bellman did the master of the vinyl.

This has probably been asked a lot in this thread, but I need some turntable recs. Looking to spend around $500. I currently have an old Technics SL-D303 that has worked great, but it’s time to upgrade I think.

Fear Inoculum was recorded to tape, but just like Lateralus and 10,000 Days everything was mixed in Pro Tools.

The 24/96 master is excellent and would be a candidate for Dynamic Range Day…the vinyl might be very slightly more dynamic but both sound excellent.

Other than FI, the only good Tool vinyl is Ænima but of course it costs an arm and a leg. It was recorded and mixed all analogue so along with Undertow are the only long players that could be done AAA. Will they do it right? Let’s hope so. Let’s hope they do Undertow right also, the existing vinyl isn’t good.

Adam Jones sounded keen on doing everything right when we were discussing it on SHTV back in 2017

I'm guessing she has zero control over that because of a contract she probably signed years ago. I'm guessing when she's finished her contractual obligations that, if she signs another contract somewhere, she might put in some clauses that give her more control over that stuff since it seems to be genuinely important to her.

Most likely but it’s still pretty funny after the comments she made.

Excited for a new Billie album though

    Great spring for female artist

Yeah, it is funny, but I also think it's pretty brave of her to publicly be saying that she thinks what her record label is doing is really stupid.

If you're ever in NYC check out 54 Vintage Vinyl. It's in the theater district and every time I've gone I've been able to find something really cool. Like today I grabbed Promise by Sade. There's a bar in the basement too

I’d be super interested to hear that

Wow that would be an awesome collab. St. Vincent producing Kacey would be a helluva an album.

So excited for her new album. Surrender, while good, never clicked for me. The momentum, singles and press around Don't Forget Me feels different and better. I'm very excited to hear it this weekend.

100%. Deeper well feels like a reset album for Kacey, id love to see her take some chances and work with different people for the next one

Looking for speaker recommendations. $250-$300. I have Edifier speakers and a UTurn turntable. Just ordered an Ortofon blue cartridge.

I use a pair of Elac Uni-Fi UB51’s and think they sound great. I got them on clearance for $290 when the UB52’s first came out. Looks like you’d have to find a used set now. I’m always looking for components that are going to outperform their price point, and these certainly seem to. I listen to mostly jazz and classic/prog rock on them.

These Klipsch R-51’s were also strong contenders last time I researched a speaker purchase.
