Went to Riverbend for the first time last year. Do what you will with these comments.
1) Pavilion feels smaller than pictures and seating chart make it look.
2) I would 100% sit in first few rows of 800 over outer 400/600 sections and beyond.
3) Best view in the house is first row of 500
4) Not a ton of tickets available on drops but there were certainly enough to wait until later before you buy
5) Far outsides of lower sections are sharp angles
6) 800GG is decent but I bet you can grab inside 600/400 section in May, at worst first 1-5 rows of 800.
