Yes Patriotism is a good thing, but as long as it's intellecually based and not blindly lead like much of US foreign policy seems to be right now!

So by all means love this country and do what you can to protect it, but please let's first check our motives and think before acting on "patriotism"...please? Please think how your actions could be productive for all and not self-righteous, thank you!

If the events of Flight 93 actually went down like they are glorified in the movie, then that has nothing to do with patriotism. It has to do with people not wanting to die on their knees. I promise you none of them recited the pledge before charging the cockpit.
Certain people want to use 93 as propaganda and that makes me sick to my stomach. The people on that flight weren't fighting for our country, our freedom or our way of life; they were fighting for the right to die with self respect. To label them as martyrs as a means to your political cause is to take a way the honorable death they earned.

I dunno, if I saw hijackers going for the cockpit, I'd want to stop them for both reasons. I'd like to die honorably, and I'd also like to thwart whatever plan they have.
