Does anyone else think Erlich is based off of Cartman from South Park?

They have extremely similar character traits. Not to mention their similar names: Erlich/Eric Bachman/Cartman.

yeah she's annoying. It seems like her job is more of a venture capitalist for the firm, in which case her personality doesnt fit at all. Shes not the nerdy anti-social programmer that Gregory was

I just can't imagine Mike Judge who has made original cartoons himself basing a character on his show on a cartoon character from someone else's show. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I was very uncomfortable with how they covered welch's / peter's death. I don't know why really I just felt like it was very unsettling

Apparently Judge was in the South Park movie, so it's safe to say he's friendly with Parker and Stone. Maybe it's a small tribute, idk, I like the idea of the comparison so I'm going to continue believing it's true.

okay logic question -- would they not have filed like a patent (or some kind of Silicon Valley-ish equivalent) on their method of the "middle out" compression as soon as Richard made it? I would've thought there's something like that they could do in the computer development world to guard against a rival company literally just copying down what you've gotten written on a board.

and the sequence of whatshisname coming up with all the different possible horrible meanings of "bro" in foreign languages at the party was great

Erlich was easily my favorite character from season 1. Show reminds me of a nerdy/geek version of Entourage. Erlich is easily their Ari Gold/Drama.

Another episode that knocked it out of the park. I don't think this is just one of the best comedies on TV right now - I think it's one of TV's best shows in general. I love how even after TechCrunch, it's been anything but smooth sailing for PiedPiper. Just great storytelling. Gavin's bit about how PiedPiper would inevitably become just like Hooli in an alternate universe was just awesome. The best comedy is the kind that doesn't shy away from that kind of reality.

On another note, I have no problem with the woman who is taking over for Peter Gregory. I think she's hilarious, and her little quib about how "it's important to maintain eye contact and be compassionate", while doing absolutely neither one while saying it was the cherry on top. This season has been excellent so far.
