Re: ***Official Lakeview Amphitheater***
I'l throw in my two cents, I went to the first show, and I live about 2-3 miles down the road from the new Amp.
The new Amp- The new place is beautiful. I went to the first show (Miranda Lamber) last year and I was stunned. Very nice place with a great Lake background. On a nice day the place looks amazing. Pavillon seating looks to be pretty good almost anywhere, and the lawn views are great. There is a good enough incline where viewing is above average for a lawn, better than any other lawn in an upstate NY venue. The front section of the pavilion has removable seating to make around a 500 person PIT as well.
Hotel- The Best Western is the closest. And the steak house is tremendous. But it will be a lot of walking The only way to get there would be to exit the Amp and walk down the Orange lot to the pedestrian bridge and then walk to the fairgrounds and back over to the hotel. It seems like that would be a 45 minute walk. Or else you would have to cross over 690, a 4 lane 65MPH highway, which wouldn't be a good idea, especially at night. They may have shuttles running to other places in the fairgrounds though so we will have to see. There has been only one show here so far so they are still working out the kinks.
Tailgating- I don't see any reason why tailgaters couldn't go to the orange lot early and park as close to the Amp as possible and do their tailgate thing. I strongly doubt anyone will try to stop it. As we get more shows, earlier in the summer, I'm sure we will find out more about the tailgate scene.
Parking- The Orange lot is the closest available to the Amp. You'll still have to walk a few hundred yards, but it isn't bad. Getting out of the lot was said to be difficult, but I stayed for the entire Miranda show and fireworks after and I got out in about 10 minutes. But no doubt the DMB show will have a lot more people. It probably won't be quick out of the lot that night, but it just is what it is, but the Orange lot is the closest to the venue.
If anyone needs any info on the area, let me know, I'll supply what I can, like I said I live about 2-3 miles down the road. Excited to see this placed packed and rockin on 6/22!
