you definitely can stay in the downtown core (anywhere near Union Station) and either take the transit (TTC - take the Exhibition street car for $3.25 one way and it will take you basically a 5 min walk from the venue) or you can take a taxi/uber - there will be tons available post show as well.

My wife and I are coming from Halifax, her 1st show my 7th. My sister and I had GA for the show in 2010 and we have GA again this year, super pumped now that we're just over a month away!!!

This is the place a lot of Ants hit up before the show. Wife and I went for first time last year (when Pan-Am games were going on) and we really enjoyed it. It's close by... Google maps says 20min walk from the Amphitheater, but its probably more like 10-15m.

Very big pit with generally polite people. Only major drawback is that they didn't allow beer into the pit. Not sure if that is still the case.

For those asking, The GA Pit is alcohol free, you cannot bring purchased drinks into the pit. If you're one that likes a drink during the show, bring a flask. Molson Amp security is very loose checking on the way into the venue.

The past two years that has not been the case. Alcohol was permitted on the floor for '14 and '15, maybe even '13. There was a year when booze was not allowed though during GA.

As usual, Jeff Coffin will be doing a (pre-DMB ) show at the Rex on Queen St W in Toronto at 9:30pm on July 18th (day before the Toronto ).
He will be joined by his good friend Michael Occhipinti on guitar (who organizes the annual Markham Jazz festival), some of the Michael Occhipinti band members,
and also, this year, by Felix Pastorius on bass guitar (who plays with Jeff in the M'utets). Should be a good show.

For those interested in pre show please let me know. I have been asked to help arrange this year. I put together the Montreal pre show last year and attended Brazen two years ago. Both great times

Seems Brazen has changed their policies for large groups on a show night. I am trying to convince them not to force everyone to order in advance but if they are anal about it I guess it will just be an informal gathering

So who all is up for pre show?

Any locals with suggestions on driving to this venue and where to park? Will be coming from Buffalo, hitting Toronto in the vicinity of 6 pm. I've only been to Molson maybe twice, and it has been years since the last time, but if I remember it is not the easiest place to get into and out of. If I remember you get off the QEW and it dumps you onto Lakeshore and that is where the bad traffic starts? Appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Secret parking spot.
At the end of Atlantic Ave (Address is 1A Atlantic Ave), there is parking on each side of the street for $5.00 after 6pm. Pay by credit card or online App (Honk app). Some events it may be slightly more. From there walk into the Go train station, under the railroad tracks to the venue. Only a 5-10 min walk.
Cheap parking, easy out.
