can someone tell me why anyone cares about this? It was gross in the 90's and didnt sell, so they stopped making it.

There's been a lot of 90's nostalgia lately, so lots of 90's stuff has been coming back - this, Surge, Ecto Cooler, etc

I vaguely remember it and from what I recall it tastes sweeter now. But it's been like 20 years and I was maybe 12 or 13 when I had it last

Picked up a bottle. It was dope, have to drink it quick before it loses carbonation though. Very close to Pepsi, wish they brought back the diet variation

Found some the other day. I remember it tasting a lot more like Pepsi and a lot less like 7Up. I definitely didn't take sip and think "ahhh haven't tasted this in ages!". Then again I was 14/15 and didn't drink it all that often.

bought 6 when I found them on Friday. It taste like regular Pepsi..can't remember if that's how it tasted back in the day

Picked up a few last night, tasted like Pepsi flavored 7-Up which is kind of what I remember it tasting like when I was 12-13.

Price on Amazon for a 12-pack is pretty decent, $1.50/can. Not bad for kola nut flavor and granulated sugar...they don't specify cane but it's fair trade so there's a good chance it is.

It has like a smokey vanilla taste to it. Almost taste like a mixed whisky drink without the whisky.

Actually my favorite soda release of the year.

1893 ginger root is disgusting though

They seemed to market 1893 as a mix for hard drinks. I made the drink they suggest on the website it was decent

I agree that it's probably the best release of the year. I also concur with the smokey taste. It's not as sweet as regular Pepsi and the sugar is more natural and pleasant in flavor. The aftertaste is more pleasant and seemingly longer lasting and more clean. It also doesn't seem to be as heavily carbonated.

I really like it!

I'd place it closer to Boylan than Jones.

I notice Pepsi also own Caleb's Kola, which uses 100% cane sugar. Anyone tried that one? The 1893 sounds pretty good, haven't seen it on shelves in Canada yet but I'd be inclined to give it a go.

It really is magic, I used to use Blue Sky Cola for my week-end rums but the supermarket stopped carrying it and started carrying Boylans, went from CDN$0.99/can to CDN$2.49/bottle but...I think it's worth the difference! Reminds me of what cola tasted like when I was little.

anything with real sugar and not HFCS is awesome.

i was telling chad to look for the yellow cap coke 2 liters around passover. they put them out as kosher. but they're the same as the mexican coke at a fraction of the price.

stock up on that as soon as you see it!

dublin dr. pepper is the best too. i've only found it at Buccee's. and, Dublin Texas.

Wal-Mart here started stocking 6 packs of the Mexican Coke now. It was like 4$ for a 6 pack so not too bad!

I'll be looking out for those yellow cap cokes. I've never seen them but probably wasn't looking hard enough

Got a can of the 1893 Pepsi. Not too bad. Kind of has the slightest cinnamon aftertaste to it sometimes. I like it and would drink it over regular Pepsi if given a choice.

I prefer looking for 100% cane sugar as opposed to "real sugar" which usually means beet sugar or a mixture, but I'll take a "real sugar" over HFCS if I can't find 100% cane sugar cola.

Finally got to try Jones Cane Cola last night with an ounce of Flor de Cana 5 year, very nice.

Tried this the other time for the first time ever. It for sure tastes different. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't go for it over Pepsi or Pepsi with real sugar.
