Official: Dave Matthews Band To Play ACL Fest 2009

It's official, folks, DMB will be playing the Austin City Limits Festival in October. No dates yet, just the lineup has posted.

Looks like DMB will play Saturday night but that is not official. It appears Pearl Jam is listed as the top headliner with DMB #2. I can imagne the reactions from many on here. ACL is a huge open area called Zilker Park. The festival keeps getting bigger each year and looks like they made this one a huge lineup. Each day has an attendence of around 50,000 people.

For anyone that has never been to Austin, this is a fantastic city. I can only imagine the surge of people flying from across the planet for this festival.

I could care less if PJ is 1, and DMB 2. That means DMB will get a full set, or should anyways. If Pearl Jam and DMB play the same day. Depending who else plays that day. I may try to make that trip.

This festival is only a few years old and the crowds are bigger every year. This lineup is quite huge. I mean there are just tons of artists on the list. 3 day passes tickets will sell out fast. Austin has a lot of hotels, but not that many. So if you plan to really come, I would book your hotel rooms ASAP.

I know there are a few other Ants living in Austin. I have been in this city for nearly a decade and I can answer any questions people have about the area. Anyone got a question about the city, send me a msg.

Also do realize many bands you see on the festival lineup, it is quite common for many of them to play side shows at other venues the same weekend. So you could easily see a band play twice the same weekend in this city.
