"Out Of Touch" and "Dusty Rhodes" are really blah to me. Very straight-forward.

The rest is really damn good though. "White Galactic One" all the way through is pretty phenomenal

    On my second listen

Out of Touch is kind of a snoozer for me too, I don't mind Dusty Rhodes but it certainly isn't a highlight.

and to White Galactic One. That, Monoliths, and Remember Our Days are my favorite tracks right now.

That is my early favorite. Also, the instrumental back half of "Jet Out Of The Tundra" rivals that of "Desire Lines" on Halcyon Digest

That piano line, with the distorted guitars behind it is just awesome

And it's no contest for me: Lotus Plaza >>> Atlas Sound

oh easily. Atlas Sound is a nice side project, but if there was no Deerhunter, I don't think it could stand entirely on its own. Not the case with Lotus Plaza for me.

Hrrm, I prefer Parallax to Spooky Action, but I still like Lockett Pundt's new LP. And I certainly don't think "Dusty Rhodes" is a low-light. Great little song. But Bradford's melodies are much more immediate and memorable to me.

I'll have to give Lotus Plaza another listen. To be honest, the production on it put me off; I realize I'm being hugely judgmental, but I was like, "Oh great, more delayed fuzz guitars and reverb vocals." I've kind of OD'd on indie rock/dream-pop.

But I do like Atlas Sound/Deerhunter and I've heard some good comparisons so I'll check them out again.

I love Deerhunter, didn't like Parallax, and Spooky much at all. I suppose they deserve more listens, but I know myself- I just won't like them. I feel bad.

I only have three for 1978:

    1. This Year's Model, Elvis Costello
    2. Waiting for Columbus, Little Feat
    3. Darkness on the Edge of Town, Bruce Springsteen

    All fantastic, especially TYM

I just realized that Lotus Plaza's initials are LP, same as those of frontman Lockett Pundt....
