As a Philadelphia native, I think I'm going to make the trip from Tallahassee.

No problem. I completely understand. Maybe you can grab a lawn ticket the day of the show at the venue for cheap. Good luck with your classes.

Speaking of demand. Mann holds over 10k fewer than SPAC and about 500 less in the pavilion. Phish sold out both shows there last year in literally 2 minutes.

Great info and thanks. 500 less in the pavilion the SPAC is pretty big considering SPAC seats in the 5K range. The balcony at SPAC is still good, but heard that the balcony at The Mann not as good as lowers. Any truth to that? Or is it similar to SPAC, just get a seat and you are good?

There's really not a bad seat. Balcony is fine. Just gets hot up there.

Ok cool. Thanks again for the help and incite. The pics I saw of the venue look amazing. Just have to see if I can swing these shows.

Another thing to note (RE: a tough ticket) is that at this time there is no posted ticket limit for The Mann unlike other venues.

There is on Warehouse, and members are only allowed tickets to one night.

That said a LOT of tickets will go to members.

So what's the general vibe gonna be for this show? That's probably a tough question to answer really because I'm not sure what there is for a comparison, but if I go for a really good seat near the front should I expect a normal DMB summer tour type crowd or more of the traditional attentive D&T style crowd? Maybe somebody that has seen Dave and Tim at an outdoor summer venue could give me an idea what to expect

never seen them outdoors but the indoor shows are always a sit down and watch type crowd. "an evening with dave matthews and tim reynolds"
there's always a few rowdy annoying people shouting, probably more of those this summer

I'm guessing the further you get from the stage the worse the fans will be as far as yelling and carrying on. That said I'm sure it'll depend on the venue. I remember a buddy on here talking about some woman just being absolutely awful within the first few rows at CMAC one year.

Not entirely sure what you're asking. The pit at the Mann is only a few rows worth of space in the very front of Orchestra A. I'm assuming for these shows it will be seated but it has the ability to be GA.

As far as requests you can request anything from Warehouse with some caveats. You can opt out of Terrace and Lawn but not uppers. Also, if you request more than 2 tickets you will not be considered for Orchestra A or B, as per the ticket limits they set forth.

Unfortunately, crowds have definitely changed from the shows you are familiar with. As I'm sure you know, the "woo" during Warehouse aren't as strong, the "love" etc. during Granny aren't as loud. It speaks to an overall changing of the guard.

At CMAC and Standing Rock (inside of course) there are those people who stand up and then turn around looking at the crowd behind them flapping their arms like idiots in the 'stand up' motion and not being courteous to the 'sit and shut the fuck up' vibe we have come to know and that in which Dave likes from his many comments on tapes over the years. I also blame the Dreaming Tree wine people who have no real fan basis and don't know any better and also the corporate people in their member boxes for the same reasons.

I am all for a general crescendo where the energy builds and maybe we stand up at the end, but standing up comes much earlier these days because of course, no one wants to stare at someone's back.

Just looked up the venue, the lawn looks tiny! I may make this a second show and do lawn which is against my religion.

This is basically what I was thinking. Kind of a crapshoot with a better chance of obnoxiousness the further you get from the stage. Thanks. Tough call, I want to do great seats for this but I don't wanna drop a few hundred dollars just to feel like I'm at DMB. Unfortunately there's just no sure thing.

Maybe somebody that has seen Dave and Tim at an outdoor summer venue could give me an idea what to expect
not sure how the vibe will be..I think the closer to the stage the better but even that could be a crap shoot, never know. You'd prob would be OK if you were surrounded by WH members I'd think. I'm sure there will be a few idiots wondering where Carter and Butch are at...

I know I plan on standing (as I assume everyone will be) doin a little tapping of the chair in front, chillin on a beer, smokin a J or 2, listening contently and singin along a bit... No air guitar solos, wooing in the middle of songs, pumping finger waves on the Crush outro for these shows.
