Exactly. I almost brought up 9/11. I mean that mean impacted me more than the deaths of some family members or people I've most of my life and that day will forever suck. I grew up in Queens and my grandma was living blocks from the Trade Center that day so I spent so much time there in the shadows of WTC as a kid.

The only day that surpasses 9/11 for me would be Sandy Hook. Now that day sucked. To first find out at work there was a school shooting nearby, then that my kids schools were in lock down, too, then that kids were killed and then finally that my wife was friends with 5 of the women who lost a child that day. Yeah, now that day sucked.

Exactly. Some people just can't help being contrarian. It grants them a delusion of wisdom, when really they just look repulsive.

"Oh, people are mourning beloved artists who changed our culture? Let me see if I can shit on their parades a little. Gives me a chubby."

I don't think that's it. I think that as much as there are people who are legitimately touched/moved by the passing of beloved celebrities there are just as many people out there who simply don't care. I'm sure they're sympathetic to the fact that it sucks for the families of these people, but there are a lot of people out there who honestly just don't care, and that's ok too. It's all about perspective.

Guy on Facebook wrote "I thought the Star Wars posts were finally over, and then some woman had to die." He quickly deleted it, but some people seem to just enjoy being the one who's not sympathizing over a celebrity death.

It's fine not to care. Going out of your way to say "I don't care" is basically just saying you want people to care that you don't care. And when it comes to people passing there's really no way to do that and not look tactless

I saw a thing where people were bashing Paul Simon for calling Fisher a "girl" and for Steve Martin calling her a beautiful woman. Probably the same perverts that beat off to pictures of Fisher in her slave Leia getup (and still do). People are shitty.

meh... most people think "celebrity worship" is why we have the kardashians.

people die all the time. every day in fact.

go fuck yourself if you get butt hurt about someone trying to make light of a bad situation (Looking at you Roose13, you racist douche who can't move out of your parent's basement/job).

and fuck the kardashians. we have about 36 hours left for 2016 to slam their G6 to the ground.

Generally speaking, I def fall into the category of someone who doesn't care when celebs die. Carrie Fisher doesn't bother me too much and the musicians earlier in the year didn't either. Craigh Seger was rough but besides that, not much for me. Still sad they're gone, it's just something that doesn't affect me much.

This post violates a bunch of rules and is not acceptable. If this is an inside joke then Roose can PM me.

First off you fucking piece of shit, I just got engaged and my fiance and I have our own fucking place.

Second, I help my parents run a business they're selling. I'm a reporter, so I work two jobs.

Third, you're calling me racist? You're such a hypocritical piece of shit it blows my fucking mind.

Fuck you, stink. Calling you the piece of shit you are is worth any ban I get on here.

So lost. Was Roose followed by a mod the one who called you out for your crappy attempt at making light of something? Maybe even this situation? Can't remember but did not know you held such hatred toward Roose

All I said was he's trolling again in a different thread. That's it. Didn't even specify this thread because I saw it in multiple threads the other day.

I know a few mods are friends with him and he's been able to skate clean for his bullshit because of it but I'd be shocked if any of those mods would target me. All the mods are at least fair in that regard.
