Wondering if I should make the drive from Madison down there...

I can be easily convinced.

It all depends what you want out of your experience. It should be fairly easy to get some pits, be relatively close to the rail, have a good time. Also like I mentioned earlier, there really isn't a bad seat in a venue this small.

Plenty of awesome bars and local breweries within a 10 minute walk of the venue. You have plenty of options for bars before the show that are a relaxed, fun vibe with good prices. The drinks at the venue are also not too bad. Should be a fun night

Now you guys got me thinking about staying the night... I was thinking about swinging down, doing dinner and drinks pre-show and driving back to Chicago after. Fuck... Who wants to be roommates for a night?! Haha.

I'm considering making the drive up from Champaign. Likely would have to work the next day though as i'm already taking off Friday of that week so I can get to Alpine N0. Could probably swing Wednesday morning off though which would make it worth staying the night I guess...

Tons of options for hotels that are very reasonably priced. Not sure exactly where at in Chicago you live, but that drive isn't always fun. Especially after a night of beers and music.

There's a handful of bars in Moline that are open until 3 AM....

I'm on the South Side of Chicago. Wouldn't be too bad of a drive.

Consider...I did SPAC from Chicago straight through on no sleep after a 12hr work day. Left at midnight...rolled into town around noon. Moline after a few beers is child's play. Haha!

    Haha, touché!!

I would love to offer up a couch or a place to stay for a fellow ant, but I live in a smaller house, with 2 roommates

In all seriousness, if you're looking at a hotel to crash for the night, look at Bettendorf, Davenport, and Moline. All are a 10 minute drive or $10 uber ride or less. Traffic can be a bitch in Moline after a big concert. But the Quad Cities (Bettendorf,Davenport,Moline,Rock Island) combined is equal to a small to medium metro. It's all one city in my eyes

As the dates get closer we will see what happens. I'm never one to turn down a good party so we shall see....

Fuck...I may end up sleeping in my backseat at a gas station over night. Hahaha!

I'm pretty glad to see Moline dropped right in before Alpine weekend. I may just take that entire week off of work in preparation for the Valley

saw Pearl Jam there in October '14 and LOVED it. It's a pretty intimate venue for an arena. It's about a 3 hour trek from Chicago, which isn't too bad at all. Nice warm up show for Alpine, as many have already stated.

Also they have beers that they fill up from the bottom, which is cool. No foam.

Not sure if i'm gonna go yet but just in case...

I booked a room at Stoney Creek a couple blocks from the venue. Only $107 with AAA rate and looks like a nice place within walking distance of the show.

I'm camping for Alpine starting N0 on Thursday for sure so not sure if i'll be up to this just a few days before but thought i'd hold onto a room for the time being.

What hotel should I book for the night? For $100 it's worth just crashing and driving home in the morning.

Stoney Creek is nice. There's also a Radisson right next to the arena

I went to St. Ambrose right across the river for college so I've been there a couple times. Not bad at all, about a 2.5 hr drive from Chicago. Bars around there for sure too.

Quad City native here! This is going to be a very intimate show, based on the size of the venue alone. I've never had the opportunity to see DMB indoors and I'm pumped that I get to in my home town! If you're looking for some good booze pre-show, check out the brewery right across the street called Bent River. Get an Uncommon Stout and you can thank me later.

Shouldn't be that difficult to get good seats for this show, I would think. I don't think there is that huge of a DMB following here, but then again, whenever a country act comes in everyone is all of a sudden a cowboy, so there might be A LOT of band wagon fans that show up. Which is a good thing I suppose. Me and another buddy are pretty confident in getting floor seats from the warehouse, though. I guess time will tell.

I was looking at The Warehouse map and unlike other venues, this one is showing a walkway and possibly a second stage. This makes this even more intriguing!

I Wireless is too small for two stages. Post the image you're talking about.

This is the general setup at IWI. I've seen the GA pit span the entirety of the floor area before, so that would be awesome. But, I'm betting they go this route.

Here is the seating chart the Warehouse is showing. It is hard to say the circle toward the end is a 2nd stage, but I could see D+T playing down there is that really was the case-pending what type of sets they are doing this year.

I'll have to look at it on my PC later. This damn iPhone won't pull up the picture. I'm leaning toward going back to android more and more by the days....

That little outstretched piece from the stage is probably all band preference. I've never been to a concert there where they used that, and I can't really see Dave wanting that, but perhaps he'll prove me wrong.

It would be AWESOME if they opened up the entire floor, like from the picture that you can see from the Warehouse page that the dude up there posted! It would be a pretty massive pit area, and I've seen bands at IWI that will open the whole thing up. I just don't know, I feel like every DMB show I've been to the pit was never THAT big. Pretty small, if you ask me. Then again, maybe I haven't been to enough variety of shows in different places.

Obviously a QC native here... It will be much like the show at Wells Fargo in Des Moines last year. Regular arena show just a bit smaller... Open ga floor with a single end stage as you'd expect. I scored instant warehouse pits for Des Moines last year... As long as you're in line 20-30 min before doors open you're in a great spot.

The entire floor at the United Center show in 2012 was PIT. Too bad that show sucked though...

I live in East Moline. I work for the pro sports team that is the main tenant in the building, so I can provide some unique insights. The floor will be entirely GA pit. This building has amazing sound so be prepared to be blown away. It is significantly smaller than arenas in Chicago or Des Moines but I honestly think it'll feel more special this way. Words for the wise on the QC area. Avoid Iowa hotels and restaurants for the simple fact that the I74 bridge is a nightmare. It's only two lanes and when it gets backed up, it could be hours. There are other ways to go but the hassle for out of towners isn't worth it. Plenty of awesome bars, restaurants and hotels in Moline, Rock Island and out by the Airport. Bent River Brewery is a must go to bar. Ribco in Rock Island is very fun along with the Daquiri Factory in Rock Island.

See you all in the pit!!
