Re: The Affair

Noah telling his mother-in-law that he is going to push her down the stairs is probably my favorite scene of the entire series.

That old bird is great. When he asked her "how the fuck do you look at yourself in the mirror?" and she shot it right back was awesome.

    Noahs is a huge douche.

It's just how the meeting was viewed. In Helen's view.. Noah and the mediator were sitting right next to each other, so she probably felt as though there wasn't the impartiality that would come in a meeting with a mediator.

It's a pretty complex show to watch as you're not really getting much truth except for the scenes at the police station.

It is complex, and I get what theyre trying to do, but I just dont buy it sometimes. Like in each persons perspective, or "recollection", theyre just so far apart from eachother. It seemed that the beginning of season 1 they started with exact scenes that looked identical, but had subtle difference in each, and have since moved to totally different recollections of events. I guess that adds to the intrigue.

Def the same meeting but two completely different perspectives, even down to the clothes that were worn.

It's pretty difficult (at least for someone like me) to notice all of the differences between the two perspectives. Some of the things are obvious (like the mediator meeting), then others I just don't pick up on.

I like that it is different.

My only counter to that is the statement the guy made about Noah before he arrived. Not exactly singing a guy's praises.

Is the general belief that we'll be solving the last mystery this season while a new one develops? In other words, is it p clear that Noah has been cleared, at least for the time being?

The clothes have always been different in each version since the show started, which makes sense. I can tell you I very rarely remember what clothes I or other people were wearing in just about any given memory I have.

And I don't think the two versions of events are simply different memories. One of them, or both, could be deliberate lies.

So, for the storms at the end of their stories, is the below the general belief?

Noah's thinks his "second" life is finally onto a good path but the storm is on the horizon. Helen, despite helping Noah get off the murder wrap, is now realizing that it wasn't just a phase and he's not coming back, so she's starting to weather her storm.

Also, the beginning of Helen's story was hilarious. Guys being naked is pretty gross. Like Elaine said in Seinfeld, they're like a jeep, for getting around.

thought this week's episode was easily the strongest of the season thus far. Watching Helen completely spiral out of control was so jarringly real. I swear the writing in this show is brilliant.

Thought Episode 5 (the last episode) was really, really good. Found it funny that Oscar now has to wear a shirt that says "Lockhart's" and the Lobster Roll is now "Lockhart's Lobster Roll." Real good stuff.

this show is fucking amazing. I didn't think it would top Season 1, but this season is miles and miles better. so much shit going on, and I absolutely love the added viewpoints of Cole and Helen.

Click the "Show Spoiler" Button to reveal hidden text.

    Couple more thoughts:

-Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson both deserve best supporting actress/actor nods
-The chick Cole is seeing is so fucking hot
-The writing in this show is arguably the best on television right now
-I can't believe this thread isn't more popular on ants. I seriously can't get enough of this show.
