no, there won't. just like 99.9999999 percent of "fights" in baseball history (save one notable incident with bautista), it will be the Sharks and Jets snapping their fingers at each other menacingly

Took my (oldest) daughter to her first game today - her 5th birthday, and my team, the Indians were in town. She loved the food and all of the family distracting stuff, didn't care about baseball, except for seeing some homeruns. Great series by the Indians. Go Tribe.

We're definitely headed in the right direction. They've put together a really nice lineup, even without Freeman. Really just a couple of pieces away from being contenders year in and out again. Farm system is loaded.

I'm not too high on Tehran right now. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to try and move him. Got to find some young pitchers, hopefully a couple of those in the farm system will pan out a lot better than Aaron Blair and Wisler.

    I don't understand

They're 4 games under .500, 6.5 back in their division, and are 7-3 in their last 10 which is something that can be said for 10 or so teams right now.

Lord Swanson turning things around will help. But Freeman will come back to earth at some point.

what does this phrase mean to you? does it mean "won't be the best hitter in the game anymore, but will go back to being the top-10 hitter in the game he's been for the last half-decade?" I think everyone will be okay with that

"come back to earth" you know he's out for 10 weeks, right?

And pretty much what YNK said. No one wants to admit he's a superstar lol

Julio is giving up a lot of runs at STP. Not a good sign. Maybe it's just a stretch idk.

Wouldn't be surprised if was moved this season as much as I'd hate to see him go.

Rumor has it the Marlins are steaming towards another fire sale that would most likely include unloading Yelich and Ozuna. Hopefully Loria unloads himself off a cliff.

I wonder why Stanton did this to himself. Like he could have gotten stupid money from anywhere and actually had a chance to compete. Why on earth would he lock himself down to the world franchise in baseball.

because they offered him the biggest contract in the history of american sports coming off two straight injury-riddled seasons, 2 years before he would hit free agency, with an opt-out during his prime and a full no-trade clause?

mike trout got paid pretty fairly at the time in my opinion, and I'm glad he got his life-changing money early

but I can't help but wish that he was hitting free agency after this year, just to see what he would command

6 consecutive seasons being the best player in the league, hitting free agency at 25 years old...I mean, it would be truly astounding

There were probably 40, maybe? Idk. Hard to tell. Most were right next to the Braves dugout. A couple behind Pittsburgh's. They kept playing shit over the PA and it was loud as hell just echoing in an empty stadium lol

Braves took the lead in the 7th, Pirates tied it up in the 9th, then Matt Adams walked it off in the bottom of the 9th.

I obviously get all of this. It's just, why? Why be the richest person on the titanic? The ship still fucking sinks. He could have gotten the same or similar money to a team that actually has a chance two years later.

His contract is so backloaded too, if it was truly about the money, If he ops out, he would have been severely underpaid for the 6 years. He would have made way more in arbitration and then free agency.

Assuming he opts out. He would have made about $107/$108 million for 6 years, leaving $200+ million on the table and no playoffs in his prime.

no, you are assuming two years of good health, which is a pretty bold assumption considering he was coming off two years of poor health
