    Honestly: pick up Azzarrello's Wonderwoman.

Snyder is a really good writer, but his stories can be so bleak sometimes... I'll take Black Mirror over Court though

I'll have to check these both out. Also wanted to check out Thor God of Thunder as well. This is all on my Kindle btw, anyone know of any ways to get these cheaper?

I have to add, i went into DKR skeptical thinking people probably overrated it. It was a damn good read. Quite happy with it.

Anyone know is Silver Surfer vol 3 is collected anywhere? I know a bunch of them tie into the infinity series but I was wondering if there was a collection of all of vol 3 anywhere

Also i read the new Thor (the god butcher I think its called) after someone suggested in her and i liked it a lot. I will definitely be getting the rest of that soon.

Also heard good things about Court of Owls so those two will probably be the next i read

Umm...im not sure. The one that ran through the late 90's. But im looking now and realizing there are a ton of issues in vol 3. So i doubt they would all be collected anywhere. Multiple writers too

The only Marvel book I currently read is Daredevil. Great writing and great.

I was enjoying Punisher, but it was cancelled.

I tend to enjoy books that are a bit more grounded in reality. Marvel books seem to have more of the fantastic elements.

A good way to do this, is figure out one of the issues that was in the run and google to see if said issue is collected in trade. Odds are if it is, that's the book you will be looking for.

I read Waid's DD in trade. It's fantastic. Rucka's Punisher was phenomenal (but Rucka's always phenomenal)! Too bad we only got 17 issues and a mini. Right now the only titles I read from Marvel monthly is Savage Wolverine, and Wolverine (decided to wait for trade for the xmen books I was reading because the writing is so decompressed). I also highly recommend Hawkeye. Punisher is going to be back in March under Edmondson and Gerards. They are relocating him to LA while the new DD that comes out at the same time is being relocated to San Fran. Should be interesting.

I'm still doing a massive amount of catching up. Almost finished with Batman: Court of Owls. They didn't have Vol. 2 (City of the Owls) in paperback so I'll stop somewhere else on my way home.

Finished Justice League: Origins and bought Vol. 2 today. Also bought Vol. 1 of The Flash and Vol. 1 of Superman Action Comics. I have A LOT of reading to do :-)

^ agreed. It's not for everyone, and may require more than just common Batman knowledge (story wise, not character wise), but it's absolutely fantastic and such a rewarding read. I've read the run in it's entirety 3 times and still find new stuff every time.

I must admit, as big of a comic book fan I am, I have not read Sandman by Gaiman yet. I have the first trade (borrowing it from a friend) and I really need to get on that. I just know once I read the first volume, I'll be on CGN buying the other 11 volumes.

Man I wish I got into this stuff years ago. I'm so lost on how to keep track of everything...

So I finish Court of Owls. I am now reading City of Owls and will then move onto Death In the Family. Is Vol. 3 the end o te story arc? I guess I don't know where I'm supposed to go after Death In the Family. I did see Night of Owls and the guy at the store explained that it's kind of a compilation that ties into the Owls storyline. But I'm just so lost. I want to catch up with the current lines that are coming out but really am not clear on how to do it...

    Holy crap:
    http://ultimatebatmancomicswebsite.weebly.com/

Now I'm just completely lost hahaha. Maybe it's too difficult for a 32 year old to get into comics. This is like learning Spanish.

So if I read Batman Vol. 1-3 it looks that catches me up to issue #17. So then could I just read 18-25 and that catches me up so I can start buying the newest issues? It looks like there's quite a bit of reading I should do to catch up to the New 52 also. I've read maybe 5-10 of the Batman books listed in the link but it looks like there are so many freaking stories. And this is just Batman. I want to get into The Flash, Green Lantern, Superman and Justice League. Pretty overwhelmed, but I really want to get into reading big time.

Yes, you will be caught up with the new 52 Batman, and can start buying new issues monthly. Night of the Owls were tie-ins that other Bat-titles did about the Talons. So one had Catwoman taking down a Talon. Another had Batwing taking down a Talon.

For any DC books, start with the TPB (trade paperbacks) of the characters you are interested in. It's a great way to get caught up.

For me, I learned about pre-new 52 stories via message boards and Wikipedia.

For any DC books, start with the TPB (trade paperbacks) of the characters you are interested in. It's a great way to get caught up.

For me, I learned about pre-new 52 stories via message boards and Wikipedia.
Then there is hope...cause that's what I've been doing HAHA. I spend a chunk of each day when I have down time at work looking up what to do.

How long have you been reading?

    Re: Comic Book Discussion

Just saw the thread and wanted to drop in a mention for a series I started a bit ago:

I completely agree that Saga, by Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man and various Marvel and DC titles as well as some TV credits) is great.

I don't read much any more unless someone that knows me recommends something but my favorites have all been mentioned I think in here already. Miller stuff, Gaiman etc. I also loved "Mage" by Matt Wagner.

Read casually when I was younger, but really got into it almost two years ago.
