Spinoff: Worst concert youve ever seen?

Counting Crows for sure. They're awful live.... it's not a poetry reading dude, it's a rock concert. Plus he stopped the concert to call me and a few other people "shit heads" after I got in a fight with a drunk guy that grabbed my wife. He went on and on and on asking us why we started a fight during a sensitive song. We left after like 6 songs. Collective Soul and Live were the other acts that night and they were good... CS was awesome.

Jerry Cantrell opened. Friend begged to stay for at least some of Nickelback... I stayed for maybe 2 mins. Could've been less... Either way, felt like an eternity.

Victor Wooten. Sometime during my college years. He was awesome, when he was actually on stage. But he kept dipping off stage for like 15-20 minutes, probably to do some blow or something, and the random cast of characters he had holding down the fort were just awful. He did it like 3-4 times.

I came into this thread with the intention of saying PitBull, who played at my college in Spring 2011, but to be honest, it was fucking awesome.

I saw Hanson this past summer down the street from my office, that was pretty bad. Mm-bop fucking banged though.

Overall worst was probably the country concert I went to two summers ago, same venue as Hanson, my wife dragged me to that one. Just got really drunk and tried to ride it out. Can't even remember who it was.

pretty bad when you dont even remember who played.

Luckily the only country show Ive ever been dragged to was Chesney a couple years ago. Eric Church opened for him who was surprisingly solid, then Kenny came on and he was basically what I expected, just a great showman, not as much a musician.

These modern pop country acts are the worst. Their main objective is to get 16 year old girls panties wet.

For sure. They are the dregs of the music industry.

Its nice to see a little bit of resurgence of real country with people like Stapleton. Im not a big fan of any of it though.

oh yeah I saw death cab for cutie open up for pearl jam in 2004 and they were fucking miserable too. also tim roberts' vanity project played at that show as well, similarly putrid

Journey....spring of 1983. Horrible...played for about 90 minutes. Looking back you could tell these guys hated Steve Perry or each other. No fan interaction.
They couldn't wait to get off the stage.
I will also say Counting Crows were disappointing. They headlined a small festival we went to 2 years ago and it was a let down.

I've seen Death Cab five times and I only remember one of them being any good. They're just not a great live band.

I don't know if there's anything I hate more than country music. I mean seriously HATE. The whole scene is laughable to me. If I was forced to go to a country concert (which just wouldn't happen) I would probably consider coming out of 3 1/2 years of sobriety from alcohol for it. I don't know how else I'd make it through.

Glad I never saw Counting Crows . I think I wanted to see them with The Wallflowers one year but I couldn't go. I remember my brother bought their live album years ago and thinking it was awful.

All of them have been at festival or festival-style events.

It's not like I paid to see them as a headliner five times.

Fwiw, I do like DCFC. I just think they're usually unimpressive live.

Alanis Morissette. Someone gave me free tickets and I was interested in the opener, don't remember who. But Alanis idea of putting on a show is running around the stage in a big circle.

Warrant/Slaughter/BulletBoys was a better show.

I'm trying to think of a headliner I've paid to see that was awful. Can't really think of one off the top of my head. Maybe Keller Williams the fourth time I saw him. He got some new beat box thing and spent the last hour playing with hat instead of singing songs so we walked out.

Seen plenty of god awful bands at festivals though.

Granted these were festival sets so translates a little differently but Phoenix was pretty boring live. Also, after the first 20 minute freak out, Flaming Lips got pretty boring, too.

Don't think I've ever seen a mid-level bands and up show that was outright bad though. PLENTY of smaller local acts ....more than I can count.

Oh, one time I saw Ludacris and I think he spent more time talking/hyping the crowd than actually performing music.

Do explain. I understand that they were probably going for that small, intimate feeling for that string of shows (hence why they played in Dixon, IL), but it's in the middle of nowhere. I used to drive through the downtown to get to my grandparents.

As far as my worst concert, it's a tie between Wiz/Mac Miller (dragged there by my ex), Devo at Lollapalooza 2010, or Marilyn Manson last summer (drunk and had zero desire to perform).

saw them in Hershey and they played Mr Jones solo on the paino. It was slow and terrible, not a song meant to be played like that.

For me, probably Jane's Addiction. I left the show about halfway through.
The sound was horrible; just wasn't a good show.
Live opened - I was really into Live in the late 90s. The show was just after 9/11 and Ed was super weepy and sat on a couch the whole time. So I was already disappointed by the time JA came out.

Close behind was Weezer, but I had a copy of the set list. That really ruined the show.

Another was Jimmy Buffett at PNC Park. The sound was horrible and I had too much to drink. Opposite was the time I had zero to drink at a Jimmy Buffett show. Not a good combination.

And DMB 4/25/02 (the Space Between - I did it encore). Just a bad show all around. Band had less than zero energy.

Still gonna go with the Jane's Addiction show. It's the only concert I've paid for and walked out during.

4/25/02 is a good show compared to osme of the garbage we've gotten the last 10 years. the encore is unforgiveable but the main set blows away a good amount of sets since SU came out.
