This is a great concept and I am looking forward to this coming out. I especially like this feature:

provide in-depth facts for studying past match strategies.
    Also,

I stopped playing Halo after the 3rd one, but the article does mention Halo as a similar comparison.

So, now they want to charge a monthly fee so you can hear 12 year olds cursing and using racial slurs. No thank you.

I pay for internet, a system, and $60 for a game. I’m not paying a subscription on top of that.

Id venture to say that most of the racial slurs and cursing you hear is from angry little 18 year olds and not 12 year olds.

I work with that age group and very few of them spend any more than a few hours a week on the game with rather strict parental controls.

Semantics I know but teens get a bad enough rap as it is.

If those kids are 18, then they have a really weird puberty timeline. I've heard every variation on the n-word and 'faggot' from the squeakiest of voices on XBL. Though often I stay in parties, so it's not too often I have to hear it.

This is why I don't play with a headset (unless in a party) and mute everyone. I have noticed that the immaturity of others, only noticable with sound, is what becomes most frustrating of the game and is easily remedied by this tactic.

Robert Bowling just confirmed that everything in that trailer is free. The paid stuff hasn't been announced yet.

Some new multiplayer info, which makes it sound like the game is borrowing some things from other games. Which is to be expected, I don't mean that negatively. But there's 'team perks', which kind of remind me of the "momentum" from CoD: World at War's War mode. Team perks here will be given to your entire team after reaching a certain goal (probably a kill total or something). And, unfortunately, it looks like one of them will be Stopping Power. Boo.

what SOUNDS interesting is the regen. I'd like to see a multiplayer where if you get shot, your health doesn't regenerate. get hit by a grenade but live? you shouldn't regain full health, or if you do it's at a very very slow pace. I'd welcome that perk, I guess.

edit: also, point guard sounds incredibly stupid.

some of those just sound like re-named perks we've already had. like assassin, blind eye, dead silence, they seem like they're ghost and ninja. recon could just be the new UAV. point guard seems weird, but i don't get that many assists when i play to begin with, so i doubt that will make much of an impact on the game.

it seems like hacker might not be in this game if they are making a separate airdrop as a booby-trap, which was one of the main perks of using hacker. i'm hoping the escort airdrop is some sort of bombing run that includes an airdrop, because otherwise that seems pretty pointless to use.

Not necessarily just re-named though, just another in a series of re-tooling. As in yeah, you could say that Cold Blooded in MW2 was just a re-naming of UAV Jammer in CoD4, but in reality, it was a lot more than that. That's what it looks like here, is an advancement based on other new things in the game. Like the things that it said Assassin blocks, we don't even know all of them yet.

And it's always been kind of assumed that the more unique Perks usually stay IW or Treyarch exclusive, so I'd be shocked if there was anything like Hacker in this. What I'm thinking escort airdrop is is a carepackage where the helicopter defends itself upon descension, and hovers over you as you take the care package. Will be interesting to see if those kills count towards other killstreaks like MW2, or if they're going to keep Black Ops' killstreak system. Although point guard suggests they're going to go back to being killstreak happy, which I'm fine with: IW titles are always more arcade-y than Treyarch.

Although good lord, I am going to abuse point guard so bad. Because of my playstyle, I am an assist magnet. When I play with an underpowered SMG, unless they're right next to me, most of the time I'll put three shots in and a teammate will get the kill because I'm too far away. I've had many games in MW2 with the Vector (a top 3 gun for me) where I go like 15/10/2.

Yes the point guard thing seems really cool for me on domination. Ill get as many assist as I do kills simply because im killing on the domination points and get shot in the back or side before my kill.

I DO NOT like stackable killstreaks. I really hate that idea and hated nuke in MW2 because it encouraged so much camping.

I don't like stackable killstreaks because it makes the game way, way too easy. This was my last MW2 video on my private channel before Black Ops came out, and is everything anyone needs to know about what MW2 became: http://youtu.be/kKAxfz84Vlw

(not going to lie, it was satisfying to hit those opening tube spots. )

I really liked high rise and scrapyard. high rise got annoying because of that elevator thing on the side of the map so that snipers could camp like bitches up there.

Bowling is now saying that Team Perks are not in the game, and Stopping Power is not in the game at all. Kotaku usually doesn't run to press without confirmation, but it's looking like that initial report was wrong.

Interesting tweet from Bowling: "Stopping power is not what makes Modern Warfare fast paced, weapon damage does that. It can be fast without a single perk."

So basically, CoD4 and MW2 were fast paced because, with stopping power, ARs killed in 3 bullets, snipers in 1, etc. But he's saying it's still fast. I'm wondering if damage on all guns have been raised, and basically all guns have 'stopping power' built in.

i never understood why you'd implement stopping power. guns are a primary focal point and should be the one thing on a somewhat level playing field. why alter that with warlord/bling AND stopping power. leaves too much to be stacked against someone.
