Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds will tour in 2017

I don't know how much detail I should really go into here but I had an opportunity to meet someone 2 nights ago who was 100% confident in the fact that there will be a Dave and Tim tour in 2017.

I don't know when/where or anything else except D and T for 2-3 months in 2017. The person holds a position that would require them to be notified well in advance and block off time I suppose is the best way I can explain it. Not a venue connection or anything like that....a position which would require they travel with "the band" so to speak.

Just wanted to put it out there.

No, I don't think so. I think the band as a whole wanted some extended time off. Dave will always find a way to be on stage. D&T is the perfect way to do that next year.

I can say that I've heard a few things as well.

I know we usually don't start the next year's rumor thread until the completion of the current year's tour (tried it before, it gets locked ).

But, I've heard from a few folks who have contributed valid rumors the past few years that D&T is a strong possibility for next year. As well as Dave solo.

The New Orleans and San Francisco/ Oakland shows in 2014-2015 were fantastic.... not sure what you are referring to

The crowds, presumably?

That's what killed it for me. It was like filling a small room with the worst lawn crowd imaginable.

The set (in New Orleans) was great, but the crowd was awful.

Was the crowd any better in Oakland than New Orleans? I kept hearing for years that a D&T crowd was really chill, but I didn't get that experience.

I'm so down with this. I've only been able to see D&T at Farm Aid, and that's a lame festival set. Would love to be able to cross this one off.

Any chance this could be for a Dave and Friends tour? With talk of a 2017 Dave solo album seems possible, if this person is part of the road crew, or dave or tims guitar tech or something similar then they would be on board for Dave and Friends as well.....either way glad to see Dave will be making music and touring still in 2017, much needed break for the band and get Dave's creative juices flowing in a different direction with a solo effort

I doubt you'll see a Dave and Friend's tour again before DMB "retires".

If Dave ends up doing the solo album like Brady Blade said in his interview last week, then I can definitely see at least a small tour to support an album release

People's inability to focus on a show at full band shows is bad enough, thankfully we have that D+T Blu-ray with the crowd mixed way down and professionally mixed 5.1 surround...9 years later this Blu-ray is still a reference title no matter which other release you compare it to.
