Dave is brushing up on his admiralty law. Jokes aside, I really enjoyed it in Gulf Shores.

Pretty much said this in the new song thread. I'd rather him pick up his guitar and try to remember how he came up with the shotgun riff

i will say this about dave.

he does nothing to flaunt his wealth. looks like he's driving a toyota there, when he could be the guy with the ferrrari. he's a humble guy who has a good head on his shoulder.

    setlist writing though?

Interesting. No band on this one. It's the intro to Out of My Hands he's been playing.

Honestly its a Beautiful song. Can't wait to see what the new album brings now. Sounds so different from any other songs the've made in the past few albums.

Honestly, some of DMB's best studio work doesn't hold the audience's attention live. Dreaming Tree, PM, for me, don't do it. Great songs, on the album they're probably top 5 personally. Live they're just very slow and quiet and they don't quite translate. Hope this falls in that category, but I'm cautious.

So the instrumentation was Dave (piano), Carter (subtle percussion), & Branford (sax)-- correct? I think there's more to this song than what we are getting to hear...

Like most celebrities he's pretty much a caricature to most people, there's no nuance to their understanding. A brief news story here, a DJ's soundbyte on the radio there, and the cartoon forms in their heads.

Been a fan of DMB since '95, and I can still see the goofy kid in that video, but what an incredible weight on his shoulders now. And how wonderful to see someone who has become so famous, made so much money, but still has no filter on himself, no pretense. Vulnerable as the next person.

Interesting. Lots of wicked mellow tunes. I like it, but first thought is it sounds like a Dave solo album.

I totally understand what you mean and agree, but this song is so repetitive. Just doesn't do it for me. Plus I don't care for Dave on the piano. Also, the songs you mentioned, I love them live. To me, this just isn't a good song regardless of it being slow and quiet. Between this song and Be Yourself, yikes.

On a different note, some of the piano melody reminds me of & sounds similar to Earth Song (MJ).

Big/dark like when the horn kicks in on Stone?
