anything like livePhish on the horizon?
Do you think anything like the way Phish handles their live shows with occasional live video webcasts is in DMB's future? I just discovered the new live Phish app and it would be so nice if DMB had a set up like that.

    What really would be great is if DMB had the show available to buy hours after every concert. Or your ticket stub gave you that show for "free." I suppose they don't do something like this because they want to be able to hand select shows from recent tours for LiveTrax. Perhaps they've looked at Phish's model and the they don't think the numbers would match the profits generated from a LiveTrax release.

    In 2002 Phish released every show from that point forward for purchase via download. In 2010 they upped the price of tickets by $10 and your ticketstub has a code on it good for a free MP3 download of the show (worth $9.99) And since then they've released two DVD/CD combos one from 2010 and one from 2011. So they obviously aren't really "double-dipping" by releasing shows on CD which are already available for purchase via download.

    (I hope I have all my "facts" right)

    I wish they would. I'd buy a copy of every single show I've been to. 22 shows at $10/piece - $220. Right off the bat. Then throw in all the shows that I just want (looking at you '04). I don't understand why DMB hasn't jumped on this. I've been preaching this for years.

    There's almost no way their decision to not do it is based on not stepping on the toes of tapers. It has to do with the economics - for whatever reason, they've determined it doesn't make sense to them.

    And with the similarity of shows lately, the market for selling every single one would have to be down, I imagine.
