Will be my first of 2024 as well, just deciding between NJ or NY.

Seen SOTY a couple times over the last few years and they're awesome, but the Page Avenue shows are gonna be a whole different level.

I just saw them with Yellowcard like 3 weeks ago. It was a nice little warm up, they are still a lot of fun on stage but def don't thrash around as much as they used to.

I think the last time i saw them headline was the 10th anniversary show of Page Avenue

I'm 99% sure I will not be attending any concerts in 2024. Not even sure when the last concert was I attended.

That's my only hope. They stopped doing all the AMEX presales for a while, which is literally the only reason I got one. I know it'll be a lower allotment but I'm assuming it will also be a significantly lower request, at least compared to the general request.

    Re: Your 2024 concerts

Got waitlisted for Olivia Rodrigo and am completely unsurprised. I believe we're in the early stages of the collapse (or potential rebirth) of the concert industry.

Between the impossibility to get tickets to Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Olivia Rodrigo, and the exorbitant prices we're seeing for other artists, I don't see how the industry can sustain. My dad wants to come up to see Kansas while they're in town on their 50th Anniversary tour so I started looking for tickets. Half the venue is unsold and tickets are $$250-$75. Unless you're in the very top balcony where you can hardly see the stage and those tickets are $54 pre-fees. Stevie Nicks tickets are $200 just for mediocre seats in the upper deck of an arena. Stevie Nicks is well past her prime talent-wise and Kansas is...they have two great songs.

I've dropped mad cash on concerts, but these prices are ludicrous. Who they hell is paying $200 to see Kansas in 2023? I've heard the argument that prices are being set based on the secondary market because it proves what buyers are really willing to pay, thus the artists are actually losing revenue for charging the fans less. While some partially accurate, it's only focusing on one side of the argument. Fans have no other choice. Hence why you see Kansas with a half empty theater on what could be a celebratory tour for their legacy.

I'm just not seeing how this can continue. /rant

What Kansas show are you looking at? I just looked at 3 shows (Memphis, Albany, and a FL show), all had pretty normal priced tickets available - $100ish for the front of the house, $60ish for the back / balcony type seats.

Was looking at Memphis. Maybe I was getting some kind of dynamic pricing. But everything on the floor was $150+ and the first balcony was similarly priced. It wasn't until I got up there until I saw something for less than $100.

I've been to that venue for a lot of shows and I don't want to sit where the $75 seats start. They're just not good. I sat in the $50 spot for Hamilton (that's all that was available) and it wasn't worth it IMO. I won't go above the first two rows of the middle balcony.
