Anyone hear about the soundtrack to Man On Fire with Denzel Washington. My mum saw it and was watching for a song at the end she wanted to know, then she told me aftrerwards while she was watching the songs she noted that most of them had Trent Reznor's name on them. She knows I'm a NIN fan and let me know. There is no mention of the soundtrack on amazon and no mention of TR on IMDb.
What Gives?

I know "The Mark Has Been Made" was in the trailer.
Just like the "Unbreakable" trailer/commercials.

Pretty cool. I wonder if it was for drums, vocals or guitars. I loved seeing Stephen Perkins from Jane's Addiction on Downward Spiral's "I Do Not Want This" which has always been in my opinion one of the most brilliant songs NIN has ever done.

I'm always falling down the same hill

And nothing comes bleeding out of me just like a waterfall I'm drowning in
2 feet below the surface I can still make out your wavy face

You would know. Wouldn't you?
You extend your hand to those who suffer
To those who know what it really feels like
To those who have had a taste

And oh so sick I am
And maybe I don't have a choice
And maybe that is all I have
And maybe this is a cry for help

Trent should be bronzed just for those lyrics alone.

Brilliant News

Just saw that the official site www.nin.com has released a new statement regarding the Closure collection that was originally released on video. Video one was concert footage and vdeo two contained all the NIN videos, uncensored, up to and including The Perfect Drug. The exception was Burn. I never bought this as I cannot stand VHS and I also had a bootleg VHS copy of a 1991 show at the Video Bar in Dallas Texas that also had all the NIN videos on it as well as the famous Broken EP promo video filmed by Peter Christopherson from Coil - it was pretty fucked up especially the chainsaw scene at the end during "Gave Up"

Anyway the site lists the Special Edition 2 DVD set of Closure. I will be speculating from this point owards but I will say this
I believe it will be available in DTS and Dolby 5.1. I believe it will have all the concert footage from Closure digitally remastered, Trent does not put out shite, d'ya know what I mean.
I believe all the videos past Perfect Drug will be included such as The Day The Whole World Went Away and We're In This Together Now and also will finally include the video for Burn. I believe all the videos will be mixed into 5.1 as well.
I know it will rock the fucking socks off my home theatre. Anyone without a home theatre is welcome to come up to Ontario for a listening premiere whenever this will be released.
As for the new album on July 30th this was written

No fucking way, no fucking way, no fucking way. I am completely beside myself here.
The Downward Spiral of all albums is being re-released on November 23rd in DVD format remixed into 5.1!!! Whoo hoooo! That's the best possible album I can think of to get a 5.1 mix. They are also releasing an SACD version.....but....that's nowhere near as good as the 5.1 DVD-Audio. I can only presume it will have 24/96, Dolby 5.1 and DTS 5.1. Also included with the album is a special 2nd disc including much unreleased stuff, including a 5.1 mix of the video to Closer.
Booyakasha! That's sweet, sweet news my friends.
Unfortunately it also states that due to legal problems the Closer DVD is delayed - but hell this more than makes up for it. The entire Downward Spiral album in 5.1. Yes!!

I'm mostly excited to listen to DS in it's entirety in 5.1 - that's going to be quite the listening experience.

New update.

Halo 8 v.2 is "off at the plant" ie done.
Trent and Atticus are working on final track selections before Alan comes to mix.

And from "access": no more bleedthrough.
New album name, with a tentative date of 3/05. (ha, good one Trent.)
After release "extensive touring." Fuck yeah.

Maybe a new single end of this year/January...?

Halo 8 v.2 is the Downward Spiral Deluxe Edition (Halo 8 DE) presented in 5.1
Track selections they mention are for the new album (what is it halo 18?)
Incidentally for those of you that haven't visited www.nin.com there are some very cool clips in the visuals
http://www.nin.com/visuals/index.html
that stream in Quicktime - particulary cool is the live 2002 studio performance in there of The Becoming.
