Re: ***Official Toronto 2015 Thread***

Travelling up from Boston for this show. Since I couldn't swing Europe this year (I did Gorge last summer and am heading out for a 2 week cross country trip in a week or so), why not see them internationally with our friendly neighbors up North. It's going to be my 1st pit experience, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Nice big pit in Toronto. You can hang in the back of the pit (still better than any seat) with lots of room around you. You wont be jammed while you jam. Dont try to park at/near the venue. You wont find parking, as the Pan Am Games will be going on in and around the venue. No tailgating in Toronto anyways Enjoy your trip to Toronto and the show !! Post or PM me for any advice.

WARNING: There will be NO parking available at the venue, or in close proximity to the venue because of the Pan Am Games.
In addition, traffic in and around the venue will be a total shit show.
Public transit, walking or cycling to venue are your only options.

See map below. The venue is at the Molson Amphitheater ( shown on the map just above the words Ontario Place ) Note: Ontario Place is closed for good except for music and related events.

Unfortunately, and most likely yes...it will be a shitshow for traffic. That's why the wife and I have already booked off both 21st and 22nd.

Same. We do every year though just so we're not rushing around.

Anyone know what time you can pick up your tickets if you got them from TM and need to present your credit card?

As in the past Jeff Coffin will be in Toronto doing a gig at The Rex in Toronto just before the DMB Toronto show. This years Rex gig will be on July 19th.

Not sure exactly as have always gotten them shipped. However if memory serves last 2 yrs when waiting in line waiting for the gates to open at 6pm there were people lined up at the WillCall window... so we could safely assume perhaps 5 or 5:30p or so?

Yes, I've always seen the willcall line and was glad I had tickets in hand. I'd rather not have to wait there. Guess I'll just have to call TM and ask them what is the earliest time I can pick them up.

For those that have to pick their tickets up at willcall with the credit card used to purchase them from ticketmaster: not sure if this is the norm but I called them today to ask at what time during the day I could pick them up. I read on their FAQ page that it was possible 1 hour before show time. Perhaps it was because The TM guy I was on the phone with heard me explaining to a coworker why they do this (to curb scalping) and how although that was a good idea, sort of put out someone who was really going to the show, offered to change my order to printed tickets which I could pick up at an outlet! Cool. I picked them up today on my way home from work.
Just means less hassle the day of the show, and a better chance of a good vantage point in the pits.

Do yourself a favor and take the GO if you're coming from Burlington/Hamilton/Oakville, Exhibition is so convenient for both Brazen Head and MolAmp. For those coming from Detroit/London/area consider parking at Kipling Station and taking the TTC in. For those coming from East (Kingston/Montreal/etc) consider doing the same from Kennedy.

Definitely sway her, way more DMB fans should be there to mingle with, good selection of pints including clean options from Mill Street (100th Meridian on tap, one of only a few places) and good food. I've known the owners of the chain since '99 when I used to sell them register rolls when they first started out with St. James' Gate. Good peeps.

Nothing against Chipotle, I like their philosophies on food but for DMB the Head would be the best choice.

Hope the surgery goes well. Satellite will come around here again soon. I too may not make it to the show this year....got to get through the Pan Am games traffic mess to get there.....I plan to leave today.:

    FOLLOW UP WARNING:

Don't try to park at or near the venue for the Toronto show.
There will be NO parking. This will be a traffic shit show for sure.
Take public transit or walk or bike..no other way to get there.
Give yourself plenty of time...you don't want to miss the "opener" !!!

Got an email from the Pan Am games organizers today (I bought a ticket to bask in the sun to watch the gold medal game of women's beach volleyball at 3pm, on the day of the DMB show, right beside the Molson Amphitheater) that says

"Taking public transit is a must when visiting venues in Toronto’s downtown core. No Games spectator parking will be available."

That includes the area all around the Molson Amphitheater (ie CNE ) which is a big Pan Am games venue site. (See my prior post with link)

Had a nice little surprise when I got home from work on Friday... UPS came with my tix! Finally know exactly where seats are... Already knew Sec&Row (203/P)... Glad to see we are on the inside -- seats 5&6 as opposed to on the outer edge... that would have sucked...

    Hey folks,

Looking for 2-4 tickets for the show. If there are 4, they need not be together.

Toronto show was awesome last year. Hope to see another one!

Molson Amp just posted about the parking/walking situation on FB. https://www.facebook.com/MolsonCanad...e=1&permPage=1

Basically, you can't cut through the grounds from the TTC. It's a loooong walk around. If you're taking the 509 or 511 streetcars, get off early at Strachan and walk down Lakeshore from there.

Gee - the comments seem kind of negative

Here is a proposal which may be of interest. There will be virtually no parking in or around the venue because the Pan Am Games. Traffic in the area will be a mess.
One thing for sure. The show will end right around 11pm. I can arrange for a Water Taxi, which can hold up to 12 people to take us from the venue (Ontario Place) right after the show (ie leaving around 11:15pm) to take us to the foot of Spadina Avenue, where you can catch the Spadina Streetcar/LRT up Spadina to the Bloor Subway.
Cost would be $10 a person. (DMB can be played on the Water Taxi during the trip) Any interest?

I'm still trying to figure out if I'm staying on Queen's Quay or uptown, but if it turns out to be QQ, I'm definitely in. I'll keep you posted.

That sounds like an absolutely stellar notion, and I'd be in for 2-4 people (my buddy and myself for sure, and my wife's cousin and husband if I can snag them a pair of tickets).

Hell, I live in the east end (near Ash Bridge's Bay), I may even take it most of the way home!

What do you figure the chances are of me finding parking near there?
