yeah...because now the Rezident is aware that Americans, likely CIA or FBI has his boy...and when he disappears, what kind of retaliation will come?

I get the sense he doesn't trust anyone now...his partner was the only one he could...he doesn't trust the bitch anymore...

Interested to see the dynamic all the relationships take...sooner or later he's going to have to spill the beans to the Secretary he's banging or she'll be caught or figure it out herself. or Stan spills the beans on killing the kid to his mistress...then who knows what will ensue.

Supposedly the two governments had several back channel ways of unofficial communication back then...

i thought it was pretty good. i think it wouldve been better if Elizabeth killed him. I was thinking as he walked out of the motel she'd put one in hs head as a surprised Philip caught his body. I think she really needed to be the one to do it

i love the old lady's manipulation though, telling Philip she doesnt think Elizabeth can do it..she's really playing both of them

she clearly couldn't. not much manipulation there. if anything, phillip knew about their past right? during the scene in the car when they were initially discussing it, it seemed as if phillip didnt even want him in america in case Elizabeth wanted to be with him. he had an annoyed tone that entire conversation

all that's right, but that doesnt mean it wasnt manipulation. This whole time we've seen her getting Elizabeth alone, telling her her marriage isnt real, Philip isnt committed, etc. Now she has Philip alone, and even know he knows it, she confirms that she thinks the same thing- they've found a weakness in Elizabeth. Philip knows the truth, but the old lady confirming it is in fact another example of her manipulating Philip and Elizabeth against one another

i'm sure it's playing a role, but i don't think it's that big of a deal (in this instance). i was waiting for Phillip to blow his brains out after greg gave her a kiss goodbye

eh she's basically whispering in his ear things he already knows but wants to deny. She's not just telling him "Elizabeth can't kill him"...she's telling him "She spent the night with him, they are in there right now. Elizabeth can't kill Gregory because she loves him. She loves him like she never loved you"

this lady is a calculating bitch. everything she does is for a reason

it's interesting because they've eliminated the 2 potential love interests that present a potential slip in judgement.

Wasn't too impressed with last week's episode. Seemed really forced and unrealistic, like Stan killing the KGB agent needed to happen to propel the show forward into a darker place rather than an event that occurred organically. The whole scenario that got the FBI agent kidnapped and stabbed was really stupid and unbelievable, and because we didn't really get to know the guy (and what we did know made him seem like kind of a douche), the impact of his death was minimal at best.

Didn't watch yesterday's yet, but the showrunners better have a damn plausible explanation for how an FBI agent gets away with murdering a captured prisoner who's tied to a chair eating dinner. For a show that's prided itself on realism and quiet movement, last week's episode was real sloppy.

Mine cut off before Stan shot the guy. In addition the three minute replay, which airs Mondays at 1:00 am, didn't show it either. I didn't see it until the catch up before the show last night. Bullshit.

Maybe they should film it off the docks in Baltimore and add a bunch of serious story lines. You know, like base an entire season on some grudge over a stained window in a church.

Basically predicted the entire show...knew Gregory or whatever the black guy's name was was gonna face the music, more relationship bullshit between the spies, not a great episode because it was entirely predictable...excited to see the next one now, a little more fallout from the killings but hopefully moving on.

we didn't really need a lot of exposure to the FBI agent because we were able to see his relationships with the people in the office. they cared about him, so we are seeing their pain. we don't have to care about him, we just have to see what its doing to the office. and how was it unbelievable? he called her, cornered her in the office..its unbelievable a jealous ex would wait outside to see who's banging "his" girl?

I also dont think Stan killing the KGB guy was forced. I think we can all agree that some blood probably spilled during the Cold War just like it happened on screen there. Just like stuff that's happened behind closed doors since 9/11. That's how he can get away with it, because it didnt happen.

I think she believes Stan killed Vlad. And so she is turning on him.

Looks to be a great season finale.
