I rescind my original comment on the disc. I don't know what I expected, but this disc really is solid and based on my personal taste for songs like ABI, AB, Last Stop, Cry Freedom, and Dodo, this may actually get more play from me than the last couple WH discs did.

The only "wasted material" are Crash and Bartender/DDTW (thanks to LT 41). If the Bartender was the coveted 4.7.02, this disc would appear MUCH shinier on first glance.

My favorite thing about WH discs is the surprising material I never would have considered before, and this disc does just that.

Shame to choose American Baby and not pick the one from 06.15.05 that has never had a tape surface, outro on that one was insane. I don't think the show itself is good enough to ever have an LT release but that AB deserves to be released.

I get the complaint about Crash but complaining that a different version of a song is being released on a Live Trac is silly

The post on the main page states that People People and Get In Line are both multi mix recordings. I thought dmb didn't record that way until 1996 (except for certain venues like The Wetlands/Live Trax 20)? I am expecting them to not sound tremendously better than the dmblive series, so am I wrong?

They didn't start recording every show in multitrack until 1996 but as you've noted there will certainly be some exceptions along the way; these are among them.

I attempted to listen to Get In Line for the first time in a while and was immediately smashed in the face by Dave's old voice and couldn't finish the song.

Same. Miss the high notes from the old days. Always wondered what the newer songs would sound like with the young Dave voice

Doesn anyone know if the People People on the WH disc is the version on the Forever Moore compilation? That version is great. It's also on YouTube under the title People People (rare song), but no date. I just have the cds of Forever Moore, no dates next to the tracks I wrote down. Figured I would ask.

After giving it some thought, they could have just replaced Crash with Bismarck or Sam Cop and the CD would have been fine.

I always wondered why DMB never took off for me when I was in high school. I remember driving around with a friend and hearing #34 and being like, oh, this is cool.

But the rest, it was the voice...

It wasn't until hearing Warehouse and AATW from Listener Supported, and BTCS that I got interested. I still don't listen to older shows. The nasal voice is just too grating for me.

Agreed. And it's a shame because musically speaking, the band was doing really creative and improvisational stuff throughout '92-'94. If I listen to material from that era, I listen for the jams and the fills. But that voice takes away from the experience overall to me.

It's honestly shocking this wasn't the case, given the band's enthusiasm for playing the new material over the last couple years. I was certain at least one new song would have made it.
