happened over the weekend, not today, but:

At work there was a guy who missed his flight Saturday night. He's native american, flying back home to the res. He was coming in on Southwest, who doesn't share pax itineraries so we had no idea. I called the ph # on file and it was the wrong #, so there was nothing more we could do. We told him we could get a discount on a hotel nearby until he waits for the next flight the next am, but he only had $20 cash on him and no cc or debit card so we told him the airport has cots on hand and where they're available.

I go in Sunday am and he comes to check in. He hadn't eaten since noon on Saturday, so I was able to get him a voucher for breakfast. We're only SUPPOSED to give $10 for lunch, but I wrote it for 15 and told him to get something to go, too, as he still had a considerable wait until his flight.

Felt real good to put a smile on his face, he was very happy and thankful when he came down for the flight.

It's probably the best I've felt all year, to be honest. He got a decent night's sleep on the cot (they provide a pillow, basic blanket, and a cot) so he was in good spirits sunday am, but sat night I felt like absolute shit. I'd made the call to send the plane early, and if we'd waited until flight time he PROBABLY would've made it, but the cutoff is 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time and that's when I called. Not knowing he was coming, let alone in the airport, I made the call to leave early.

Man it felt good to get him a hot breakfast.

That 30 mins is absolute bullshit too. I was 'late' for a flight once on AA. It was about 25 mins before departure. They would not let me on the plane even though it had to sit there for another hour for deicing, etc. Pricks!! Fortunately, there were other US/DL flights I could take (just a quick MHT-NYC flight). AA was horrific with those shuttle flights.

Was his WN flight delayed coming in? I'm surprised (maybe not really) that if caused him to miss his flight, that they weren't able to help him with accommodations.

I'm amazed theres still some good people that walk this earth. Long story short, a lady customer (lady a) Bought another lady customers (lady b) groceries tonight. Lady B credit card wasn't working and she couldn't find her checkbook. Lady a stepped up and bought the groceries for her on her credit card. The amount purchased was just over $90. Lady A made a few people smile in my line, including myself and all the employees working.

Hey thanks man. It ain't easy being on the front lines, we get blamed for everything (missed connrctions, missing bags, delays...) and we just have to take it all in stride. It really does feel good when I can make a passenger's travel easier even just a little bit.

We got an email the other day from corporate actually, from a passenger o left their laptop in the boarding area. We radioed out to the captain as it was before they'd even really left the ramp area and they were able to swing back around and grab it. We brought the computer out to the plane and the passenger was very happy. It really does feel good.
