Re: Problems with the DualDisc? Post here (MusicTodayC)

I refuse to buy DualDisc CDs anymore. Every since i found out the entire DualDisc scam is yet another misleading by the RIAA.

Did you know that DualDisc cds are actually not real CDs. Look on your package cases, NONE of them carry the 'Compact Disc' logo or any other reputable logo for that matter. They are not manufactured to true CD specifications.

In fact the first one I purchased before realizing this, it actually said in the fine print of the package that the disc was in no way guaranteed to play in any cd player and that they assume no responisibility for the 'extras' operating at all.

This is yet another example of how the modern-day recording industry is simply out for the money and has ZERO care for the consumer. They release these dualdiscs to make you think youre getting all kinds of extra free stuff when in reality youre getting a cheap imitation of a real CD with some extra crap that may or may not work. Screw the RIAA and support real artists like Dave that allow taping of their shows.

I just tried to reburn Stand Up at a higher bitrate than I originally had and of course it wouldn't read...

Was this ever taken care of?

Re: Problems with the DualDisc? Post here (MusicTodayC)

I originally bought the DDisc, but nothing in my house would recognize it, so I took it back and bought just the audio CD.

It took me two and a half freakin' hours to transport the songs from my audio CD onto my MP3 player. Pain in the arse, it was. All I wanted to do, was put the songs on my portable device, and here I had to download somekind of stupid digital keys, and wait fifteen minutes to hear the songs.

Copright protection like that on Stand Up, though it's successful in what the music industry wants to accomplish, will make fans NOT buy CD's and just use PTP sharing. It's SO much easier.

Thank God, Best of What's Around wasn't protected or I'd be spittin' kittens.

In my car the disc can only play on the DVD side, CD side up, but the last song #14 is messed up its scrambled up in the middle, the rest is fine.
