I did some lonely drinking saturday when the fiancee went out with her friend.

Nice. Went to the food trucks on Friday night and Isla wanted to stay at her grandparents house, so that was nice. Took her to gymnastics Saturday morning and then got in the pool that afternoon. Did laundry and stuff around the house yesterday. Getting ready for the trip to Oklahoma on Thursday.

Long weekend. We went down to visit a friend in Chicago and basically just ended up eating good food all weekend and going to IKEA. We were going to go do stuff outside on Saturday but the weather sucked.

Camping for three days this coming weekend! Also pumped that our "summer hours" begin at work this week, meaning I have 4 1/2 day weeks from now until Labor Day but still get paid out 40 hours.

Sometimes I really hate this state. Our tags are based on your birthday month and are supposed to be renewed on your birthday. Mine was the 9th this month, so my tags are due. I ordered the tags on Friday and I'm just waiting for the stickers to be mailed. On Saturday, my wife got pulled over because the tags are expired. Cop wrote her a ticket and I can go to the courthouse to prove that I renewed the tag before she got the ticket. That's nice and all, but it would have been nicer if he could have just used some judgement and thought, hey, it's still May, just let her go. I get that I was the one with the expired tags, but fuck, come on. I hate that they're expired on your actual birthday and not the end of the month.

I'm not sure how they work the renewal of plates here. I think you just renew them annually by the end of the same month you originally got them in.

I know that my renewal is always the end of November.

That seems like a major pain in the ass. Birthday month I could see, but actual birthday is really weird. The last thing I'm going to think about on my birthday is renewing my plates.

Doing it on your birthday is so incredibly stupid. I cant believe thats a law.

PA's is just a year to the month since your last inspection.

So if you renew May 1st 2017, its good til May 30th 2018, so you technically can get up to 13 months.

Cop ran the plates and saw my birthday was the 9th. Car still has a '17 sticker on it, so ticket time.

Then theres ones that will throw a sticker on any car no matter how shitty because their buddy owns it or something.

Last year I went 4 months past my birthday with expired tags. I got pulled over, was honest with the cop and he gave me a warning but said he was going to follow me to the BMV to ensure I paid the late fee and took care of it right away (and I did).

The cop pulled me over on my lunch break. I had no idea why. He asked if I was test driving the vehicle or if the truck was recently being worked on. I told him no and that it's basically my 'go to work' car and I have been driving it daily for several years.

He ran my license and insurance information as I started to search thru my envelopes and several years of registration receipts. When he came back to the car he was like 'you can stop looking, the computer states that it was not renewed'. I couldn't believe he gave me a warning, I never get warnings.
