Show is great, but better than BB?

Total recency bias. Skylar's character counterpart is not Kim, it's Chuck. And we all hate him just like most of us hated Skylar.

Edit: Kim is much more like Jesse, corrupted and screwed by association with Jimmy

Chuck is a much better character than Skylar. We hate them both, but Skylar is just annoying. Kim is not like Jesse. Jesse had plenty of problems even before he met Walt.

I agree with this. Jesse was no saint before Walt. Kim was the epitome of a good person before Jimmy.

Re: Better Call Saul (May Contain Breaking Bad Spoilers)

Jesse's problems paled in comparison to all his Walter-induced problems. The dynamic is the same. The main character is manipulating someone close to them without caring about the repercussions until they come home to roost. Kim is going to get screwed hard by Jimmy, we'll find out whether or not she has a Jesse "happy" ending.

Chuck is a much bigger Ahole than Skylar ever was. Sure she was annoying, but her behavior was a lot more justified than Chuck's. Walt put Skylar's family in danger. Chuck is motivated by a one-sided sibling rivalry.

Kim is still a good person morally. I can't wait to see what happens to make her want Jimmy out of her life.. it has to have something to do with losing Mesa Verde or maybe something happens where she get disbarred

I hope that Kim comes back into play in the Cinnabon Gene present-day story and we get some sort of happy ending to this show.

I'm not sure if I would like that or not. For some reason, part of me wants something more tragic. Whatever Gilligan does I'm sure will be great though.

Re: Better Call Saul (May Contain Breaking Bad Spoilers)

That last episode was so good, what a great performance from everyone involved but definitely this was Michael McKean's moment and he nailed that final scene so well, all of it too, the ranting, the horror as it dawns on him what's happening especially when he looks at the three bench members, just awesome.

During the supper scene I almost said to my wife that the conversation felt a little fake...but then I realized of course it does! He's living a lie right in front of her.

Ending shot when the EXIT signs buzzes into view, so well done.

Last two episodes have been awesome. I really like BCS, a lot actually, but it is not better than BB.

I loved the controlled rage in Gus's voice two episodes ago when he said of Hector "A bullet to the head would have been far too humane." Loved seeing everything play out in the courtroom this past week, but anxious as hell to see what happens next with Mike/Gus/Hector.

Turns out I was on screen for like 5 seconds in last night's episode of Chicago Justice. In fact, the opening of the scene was old fat face myself.

Awesome seeing Gus check out the laundry facility and having Lydia pop up. I have some BB fan friends that are still hesitant about this show and they're missing out big time!

any spinoff will always have to walk a fine line between enriching/furthering the source material and naked fan service ("hey there's that guy! cool! doesn't add anything, but there that guy is!")

overall the show has done a very good job of being in the former category. last night kinda veered just a tad into the latter for me, and I didn't love the introduction of saul goodman, but I can't articulate why.

however it was by no means a bad episode and doesn't remove even one brick of what the BCS cast and crew have built so far

So "Saul" was created directly because Jimmy's brother got his license suspended for 12 months. He was trying to push Jimmy to improve the ways of his life, but he really just pushed him further down the path of becoming worse.

Re: Better Call Saul (May Contain Breaking Bad Spoilers)

Jesse was born in Sept 1984. BCS starts in May 2002 and it's probably still 2002 story-wise I would imagine. That would put Jesse at 17-18 years old.

What would y'all do if they brought in Aaron Paul (now 37 years old) to reprise his role as Jesse but they used some wild-ass make-up, computer generated shit or just make him drop a bunch of weight to make him look 18?

I only ask because I see some fools on other boards talking about how Jesse should come onto BCS. I think it'd be a terrible idea for the record. Unless there was some really deep or interesting story reason behind it. We do know when Saul is introduced in BB that Jesse knows him already.

I'm not against Jesse making an appearance. I don't think it'd be right for to have a role even a small one. But a cameo would be nice.
