Re: Australian Tour April 07.....

The (very) special day to mark in the calendar is Tuesday 17th of January. It's time to give full measure to what Bluesfest 2012 is all about!

You may think we have played all our cards but there are major aces yet to be revealed!

Get ready, as we are going all out with the 4th announcement and it is the biggest one yet, with around 30+ artists to be announced, including major headliners.

Re: Australian Tour April 07.....

Twelve months on from the Charlton flood & I'm still not back in my house & most of my cds are still in storage, including all my DMB cds. I've taken delivery today of a 2nd hand copy of The Central Park Concert (I could live without this no longer!) but I would really like a copy of the very first Live Trax cd. Apart from the inflated prices at Music Today, not to mention the postage costs, there are no copies to be had anywhere. So would 'someone' be prepared to burn me a copy & in exchange I'll pay for the discs plus postage & handling. Please PM me if you can help. Live Trax 1 is the one that opens with Butch Taylor's piano intro to Seek Up. What a shock,I want a cd with Butch on it! Thanks for reading.

Re: Australian Tour April 07.....

Even though you can see them at any Australian music festival Richard Clapton is still excellent value given his stellar back catalogue (I saw him last year & he was amazing) Backsliders (feat. The drummer from Midnight Oil) The Audreys & Blitzen Trapper. Candi Staton had a huge hit with an ordinary song (Young Hearts Run Free) in the late 70s & I'd go along to see Canned Heat just to see if it's the same line-up who recorded Up the Country & On the Road Again in the late 60s. Mixed feelings about John Fogarty even though I was a CCR fan.

Ironic that Megaupload was taken offline just 2 days after I posted that. Hope you got it.

Any news on an Australian Tour yet? I might just purchase the Gorge tickets if they skip us again this year.

Yeah Jared I did & thanks.

The tour dates that I've seen are all in the U.S. I may need to have a closer look 'cos I'll be in America later in the year.

Changing the subject...is anyone planning on seeing John Fogerty next month? He's playing Cosmo's Factory from go to whoa at his Melbourne gig.

Re: Australian Tour April 07.....

Hey Aussies,

Have any of you ever gone to the Gorge in the past? I've seen DMB in Chicago which was much easier in the way of accom. I am thinking i'll buy GA tickets for all three nights, though accomodation seems to be the hard part. It seems all I can get is:
http://dmbtravelpackages.tickets.mus...66&outlet=2466
or
http://dmbtravelpackages.tickets.mus...58&outlet=2466
Any suggestiions? Cheers

Re: Australian Tour April 07.....

Oh yeah forgot to add the results of The Warehouses, "best available" lottery.

Night 1 - Lawn
Night 2 - GA Pit Standing
Night 3 - Pavilion Reserved

Which is pretty good (wanted all Pit since I'm a diehard), but I guess I am paying the price for accidentally letting my WH membership expire. You know if you renew it you have to start again in seniority? Sucks!

I guess I better get in gear and get my passport ordered.

miss.anna: sent a PM, albeit rather late, hopefully you got the help ya needed.

stixbradtle: Man I am just bringing a tent and using the campground. Relatively cheap $90 for the entire weekend. It's DMB man... who needs a comfortable bed!

Also I still have no idea how I am getting from Seattle to the Gorge.

Re: Australian Tour April 07.....

Long time no anything but thought I'd stop by & say g'day...been listening to a fair swag of DMB lately. The usual faves from days of yore plus listening to the Big Whiskey album.

Been reading the setlists from the current tour & kicking myself for not being organised enough nor having the filthy lucre to head to America to visit friends in North Carolina...their gig there on Wednesday night seems to have been the best so far & had the least complaints. Try living here where they haven't toured in 5 years!

I will be stateside sometime next year so if they play in NC again or somewhere near then I plan my trip accordingly. If they tour the new album maybe, just maybe they may try one more time to crack the Oz market.

Hope everyone is well...after a gig drought I have 2 possibly 3 coming up in the first half of June.

Still here dancing with the Groo Grux King!

Yep, I got my parcel the other day too, kinda wished I got the WH disc with bonus tracks (they stuffed it up a few years ago)
We were meant to get a photo of the Caravan tour along with the keychain, looks like they messed up with that one :\

Has anyone else preordered AFTW yet?
I called Sony Music Australia the other day and the guy said there are plans to release the album in Australia, though it may be in October....

When BWATGGK was out, Sony said they were going to release it here but pulled the pin on it and Warner ended up bringing it out aggges later.

Fingers crossed for Bluesfest! I was thinking of going to the Hollywood Bowl show, but it's just way too far to travel. I'd rather save the coin and see them in every city of Australia

Re: Australian Tour April 07.....

Got my Warehouse pack too, but as usual the CD was bent in the mail and hence is currently flattening out under a pile of heavy books. Mine was also missing the photo print. But on the upside, totally stoked they included Crazy Easy from 16/7/2004, favourite version of that song.

I notice that iTunes Australia has Away From the World available for pre-order, with an expected release of 11 September (same date as USA). iTunes (both Australia & USA) also have 'The Collection', all 9 of the previous DMB albums for $45, which appears to be a new offer as of last week. The fact they are offering this in the Australian store too is hopefully a good sign?

Oh, and John - I finally saw KMH live, very enjoyable gig. The opening act were downright hilarious - 'The Beards'

Hope you're all doing well, been a bit quiet here lately so it would be great if DMB came back for another visit sometime soon to liven things up!

Yep, I'm an idiot sorry. I must had been looking at the USA iTunes store initially and just assumed it was the Australian one. So ignore anything to do with iTunes from my previous post
