Anyone working on any Carter-stuff lately?

I'm getting pretty close with Panta...Having a little trouble keeping the jamblock going during the triple snare in the 3rd bar

I"ve been holding out on buying UTTADrumming...Would you say its worth it? I've watched some of the vids on Youtube, but I dont know how much I believe a video can help my playing. I don't think anyone can ever be as good as CB

I would say its definitely worth watching! Blockbuster.com or netflix should have it. Also its chopped up all over youtube pretty good. There isn't as much coaching as he just shows what he does, and how he approaches the few songs. A must see for any drummer

Re: Carter Beauford

If you're a DMB fanatic and a drummer, Under the Table and Drumming is definitely worth the purchase. I don't really recommend it to many drummers who aren't DMB fans though because Carter isn't really that great of a teacher and a lot of the value in the video (for me anyway) is in seeing him play to the various DMB tunes.

You're not really going to get a ton of insight from it, but just as a fan it's very entertaining. It did help me figure out exactly what that four-stroke ruff signature Carter fill was though. And I use the shit out of that, so that alone made it worth whatever I paid.

I bought the Dvd and have never touched a drum kit in my life, I love watching it! He does indeed suck as a drum instructor, at least on that dvd. He basically gives you a terrible rough explanation of what he is doing, then just does it. Either way I would consider it a must see for any DMB fan.

The story I've always heard is that a fan gave it to him.

I love the Under the table and drumming just being up close and being able to see exactly whats going on gives major insight to the way Carter pulls off those awesome fills, beats, etc.

Interesting. See the post above...mentions it's a Tibetan style bell. You can find those online everyone. you can also search for Buddhist bells. I haven't bought one yet, but plan to.

I'd love one of these bells too. Do you just take the handle off and that's it?

Re: Carter Beauford

I got my 5" Brass Tibetan Bell in today. Sounds almost identical to Carter's Chinese Wedding Bell, or Tibetan bell, whatever it is. I absolutely love it and it goes perfectly with the Zil Bel/Ice Bell stack

Hey man it's cool. I'm glad I finally found one. The little thing sings quite a bit when you hit it. I'm sure it'll get more looks as well than play time, but hey, it's something NO drummers around here have

Re: Carter Beauford

Always love to see this thread rise to the top on a random weekday!

Here are some pics of my kit. These were taken a month ago and some things have changed. Moved jamblock next to HH, and took out the 16" for now.

Most importantly, I've replaced all the drum heads for the first time in 9 years (exception: 16" tom...waiting for more cash!). EC2's on top, Remo clear reso. Remo top and bottom snare. Also, I got my snare tuned for the first time ever. That plus fresh heads and the brand new Yamaha rack have me playing pretty damn good.

Hope ya'll can see em, Photobucket can be a bia.

For legal purposes, according to Yamaha. Probably was too expensive for average consumer to afford. I only sprung for mine cuz it was 250.

Don't be jealous that you didn't get it for that cheap!
