It's not a bad show, it's just utterly ridiculous at times and fails to really break out of some of the genre tropes that dominate modern political entertainment. The show looks fantastic, mostly well acted (the guy who plays Peter Russo should get an emmy nomination), and pretty entertaining. It's also frequently absurd and suffers from the same problem as another recent political drama, Boss: there's rarely anyone to root for.
You should definitely watch it, though. The pilot is great.
