Ryan Gosling is amazing in it. He does a really good job taking on his role. The girl who plays the student won an award for the part she played I think, but I wasn't really impressed. Just don't expect any "Hollywood" type stuff from it. The film captures what it's like for a normal person to have a drug problem, as he tries to fight through it.
