Wish they were doing Chicago Theater but, hell yes I'm there! Will be a nice couple nights on the lake. PRAYING the lawn is not open. Not that I'd sit there anyway but, 30K is just too much for a D&T show and will add so much congestion.

Sometime over this offseason I am guessing, it was still First Merit Bank last year summer. These things change so much it's hard to keep track anymore. I just always call it Northerly Island. (Although I guess it's technically a peninsula? :lol)

Trying to swing the June 10 show. Don't want to take too much work off, already seeing them in Portugal. Been wanting to see them in Chicago for awhile now. This should be fun.

Considered using some SW points and flying out for the show but hard to justify $250 a night for hotel room and that's w/ a great Hilton discount I get cause my wife's a GM at a Hilton property.

Might not go over well in my honest opinion. I don't want to be Mr. Negative, but Dave & Tim is made for intimate venues, not huge amphitheaters with drunks talking over chords & lyrics. If you had tickets in the lowers you'd be ok. I can't see myself going to a show.

would have maybe gone to chicago if at the chicago theatre. that marquee is up there with the best of them in the world. will still maybe go to hang out with chicago friends, but the show atmosphere is going to suck. sound from two acoustic guitars is going to blow into Burnham Harbor or Lake Michigan. meh about the whole tour, really.

Yeah, it really is NOT the venue for Dave and Tim. It sucks for full band shows, let alone an intimate acoustic show.

Stay out at an ORD hotel and take the blue line in.

Agree on the general consensus of the venue. When the first "Chicago lakeside" rumors came out I was actually hoping they would play up at Montrose like Mumford did in 2015.

With that said, I will still be at both nights...

Mumford set up their own stage for that. No way anything Dave related actually puts in the effort like Mumford does.

Of course they play Chicago the weekend of Bonnaroo. The wife and I are making a trip out of it and seeing them in Nashville instead. Hope everyone enjoys themselves, this'll be my first D&T show ever.

Nashville is the better weekend anyway. Go get fucked up on Broadway, eat some BBQ and/or hot chicken, etc. etc.

Something for everyone to keep in mind - Ascend has a smoking ban and a strict curfew. So...there's that.

Thinking of making the trip to Chicago for this as it's the only date that really works with my schedule. Philadelphia could also be possible, which I'm now considering since people seem to be talking negatively of Northerly Island..

I've never been to Chicago so tips are welcome! :)

My memory from 2014 was that the sound in the pit wasn't too bad at all, but I remember people in the lawn said it was awful. Anyone remember how the sound was in the bleacher seats?
