Parenthood ***NBC Series***

I may be 3 seasons to late on this thread, but this show is probably one of the best TV shows on TV right now and it is highly underrated.

For those of you looking for a wholesome, loving, funny, drama watch the Braverman family.

Any other fans out there?

first couple seasons were good. this one isn't that great.

One of the best on "regular" TV. Crosby and Alan were crazy not to sell. Wife thinks they shouldn't cause it's Crosby's dream. Of course, next year, it will not work out. Also, I was not expecting an older boy to come out of the car at the end. Some miscommunication there

I've been watching them on Netflix, almost through them all. I LOVE Lauren Graham. Feels like I'm watching Lorelai Gilmore, which I am okay with.

We talk about this semi-frequently in the TV thread if you're interested.

In short, fantastically underrated show, and easily the best drama on network television.

Didn't even think to check out that thread.

But I agree, I was shocked at the end too, definitely not what they were expecting I don't think, but they rolled with it and I think will be happy come next season. It will be interesting to see how the little girl takes it (always forget her name).

The only thing I didn't like about this episode was how quick the Crosby/Jasmine wedding happened. It almost seemed like the writers couldn't think of anything to do for the season finale and just came up with that. I mean the Dr. pretty much bought a house because of Jasmine and that conversation doesn't only last 2 minutes in the real world.

ALOT happened. It was the season finale. You should watch it online or NBC on demand.

Disagree. I've enjoyed all seasons, thought this was great too.

Didn't like how they ended with Joel and what's her face though.

Wow I'm so glad to see a thread about this show! My wife and I have been watching it since the beginning (well I caught up on netflix with S1 after we got married) and we absolutely love it. It is by far our favorite drama on TV, and I can only hope that more people continue to find it and fall in love with it. I don't think it does all that well ratings wise so I worry it'll get cancelled, which would send my wife into a depression. :lol

I thought last night's episode was really good. I did think the wedding happened really quick, almost like the writers thought they'd have more time to draw the story lines out and then they were told, nope, this is the finale so make it happen!

I'm a little surprised Adam gave in and didn't sell. For god sakes Crosby you'd be splitting around 3 million dollars! But then again, this show is all about family, so I wasn't too surprised after it was all over.

Nice twist at the end; I can't figure out if Joel and Julia knew that could happen, or if they're just going to roll with it. Either way, I think they'll make the best of it and maybe take in more less fortunate kids.

I didn't mind the Crosby and Jasmine thing going so quickly. The entire season they had been hinting at them kind of rekindling things and still loving each other, so I thought it made sense that it happened so quickly once they decided on it. It was clearly what they had both really wanted deep down for awhile.

Yeah I don't mind that either. I got kind of sick of them dragging that out. It's obvious they need to be together.

Jasmine is a babe too.

Anyone been watching this season? The whole cancer thing has really taken a front seat to most of it. All these episodes are pretty much centered around Kristina. However, tonights was great again. Max's speech was excellent. Really nice to see him progressing as he gets older, as frustrating as he can be sometimes.

I like the storylines for Kristina, Max, and Hattie this season, even though it's a little difficult to watch sometimes. I generally don't like Hattie, but she's been great this season. I was also happy for Max that he was brave enough to just come out and tell everyone he has Asperger's. He's really starting to grow into himself.

Love this show but won't get to watch the finale until next week

I think I'm 3 episodes behind. I'll watch by the end of the weekend.
This show tugs at my heart strings.

And all this time I didn't think there was a thread on this show. My wife and I absolutely adore the Bravermans. She comes from a bigger family, so the craziness fits perfectly. We really enjoyed most of the story lines this year, although some just left me annoyed. Lol, but I won't spoil any of the twists for those that haven't finished the season.

Rodey 04-21-2014 08:11 AM

I hear it's in serious threat of getting cancelled, which would be a bummer.

Still digging the show. Agree that I liked most of the story lines this year, even though I think Joel was being a big baby. Really hope it returns for another season, the Bravermans are great

Would be a huge bummer considering some of the other shit that get air time.

I would be surprised if it gets cancelled, just given the fact that it doesn't seem like NBC can develop anything that sticks and gets better ratings. Its ratings are bad, but they are very consistent and have a built-in audience, which isn't a given for a new show NBC pushes out. If NBC can develop another Blacklist-level hit next year, I would guess it would get cancelled at the end of next season, but I am cautiously optimistic it will be back next year.

Re: Parenthood ***NBC Series***

I thought I read something a few weeks ago that it was doing a little better in the ratings, especially for NBC, and that it had a good chance of renewal. I did notice though, probably because of the unsure status, the finale didn't have any huge cliffhangers.

Yeah, agreed.

You can see the spoiler if you quote my post. Happens to me sometimes like that too

Rodey 04-24-2014 06:46 AM

I don't think we need to spoiler anymore. It's been a week.

But yeah, I pretty much agree with that too.
