Why didn't Write A Song make it onto Big Whiskey?

It would have been perfect right before You & Me. Definitely could have been on the album, totally suits the mood of the last couple of songs.

Not sure what the deal was. Probably had something to do with when they wrote it and stuff like that, album length.

I would rather've had WAS than You and Me. I think WAS would've been more popular as a single.

It did make it onto the album...together with a studio Corn Bread , it's track 14 + 15 on the regular European edition of BWGGK.....but only there

Not too worried about Write A Song missing the final cut.

I wish it was on the actual album.

Crazy talk, maybe by the hardcore ants...but by the general public?

I think it would've made a better single than You & Me. It's an upbeat song that is easy to sing along to and easy to remember. Not to mention that it sounds a lot like classic DMB. :leroi

I think WAS could have replaced You and Me as a better album closer.

Woulda been cool, I like it more than several tracks on the album including Spaceman and Dive In for sure

Write a Song and Beach Ball are both better than dive in and you and me in my opinion. I would gladly swap them out. I would rank that album much higher if they had included those two.

Indeed. Put Beach Ball where Dive In is then close the album out with Write a Song.

I disagree... I think You & Me is a far better closer then WAS. Better single... better closer... IMO

I agree..... and I think Write A Song would have made a great single instead of Y&M...... a shame these two didn't make the album but at least we have em :)

It is so plain, and vanilla. Not a bad song, just a boring one.

As soon as the album was released, I put Write a song, Beach Ball, Little Red Bird, 27 and Cornbread on the album in my iPod. So as far as I'm concerned, it's just an awesome 18 song album.

Is You and Me a dark song that is hard to sing along to?

Na, Beach Ball has to be "THE" worst DMB song ever written.
Hope its in the vault for good! Even Spaceman kicks its ass!
I think even Roi would agree on that one.;)

Disagree there too, Ym is a great tune. My 3 year old daughter loves it. And the nice thing about that is I will always have that mem, with me driving to daycare and her saying again again.
And I have no problem hitting repeat. I wouldn't change a thing on BW. I don't understand why there is a UK version with the bonus stuff and they play 97 percent of their concerts in the Good ol US of A and maybe we get a Canadain show 98 percent of the time which I'm not complaining about in the least. But how come on DMB's side of the pond we get cut short. Baffles my mind. Check out the new Slash cd if you havn't. Its actually really a good get. B cool if the DmB got a little harder. In that music kinda way.

I can't see "I want to write a song that'll get you high" being a radio single
