without a safety harness. or stabilizing wires.

Blondin crossed Niagara Falls on stilts, on a bicycle, blindfolded, at night… one time he pushed a wheelbarrow along the tightrope; in the wheelbarrow was a stove. When Blondin reached the middle of the tightrope, he got out the stove, upon which he cooked an omelet. He ate the omelet and then completed the crossing.
what this dude is doing tonight is a cake walk.

Thats just nuts!

Re: Wallenda crosses The Falls

Everything I've read about the guy says he crossed the gorge below the falls, not directly over them like the cake walk that Nik Wallenda is currently on.

Re: Wallenda crosses The Falls

What does a harness have to do with what he's doing or how hard it is? It's there to save his life, not make what he's doing any easier.

fluffhead_phish 06-15-2012 07:28 PM

Re: Wallenda crosses The Falls

Its still impressive but it would be even more impressive without a harness

Re: Wallenda crosses The Falls

I'm not following.

that's like saying pitching in the 9th inning of a perfect game isn't any harder than pitching in the 9th inning of a standard 5 to 4 average score game. except, imagine dying if you fucked up the perfect game...

I'm watching. He said earlier the harness made it harder. And, really, like abc would air someone dying?? :lol
I mean, it seems a little more lame with the harness, but still impressive.

Look below, the guy doing this says it makes it harder to do, not easier. So I'm not following how a safety harness makes this any less impressive.

Bahahahaha... guy just said jack-off on live TV.

justink 06-15-2012 07:34 PM

Re: Wallenda crosses The Falls

ooooh, they guy says it makes it harder... :lol

Re: Wallenda crosses The Falls

Takes some of the pressure off, no harness you would have to have balls of steel, hes still got bigger balls than me just for trying though

I love anybody saying anything like this isn't impressive. Simply hilarious to me.

First person ever to walk directly over the falls.

i hear them saying that but he didn't... when they showed the overhead shots, you could see he was over the bowl the entire time.

:confused

You realize Niagara Falls isn't straight, right? It's called Horse Shoe Falls for a reason.

You see that shot, right? Directly over the edge.

yeah, and he was never over the horseshoe at all. he walked from well below one foot of the shoe to below the foot of the other. the falls were to his left/west the entire time.

He quite obviously was.

Goodnight.

:lol:lol:lol People are funny. No one saying anything like that would even consider doing. He can rock the harness all he wants. He didn't use it and they're not going to take the chance of a guy potentially falling to his death on national tv.

:lol

of course he used it. that's why we're talking about it.

he didn't fall... maybe because he wasn't as nervous as he could have been walking with out a harness...?
