The Revivalists

Couldn't find a thread on this band, which means it probably exists already and I can't find it.

I first heard about this band a month ago and I've been listening to them a lot lately. I really dig their sound.

With how things have been with DMB lately I've been exploring different and newer bands and I really like these guys style. I think it would be a pretty cool live environment. I'm gonna try and see them this summer

I saw the two months ago. They put on a really good show.
One of the highlights of the weekend.

They have a new album coming out soon.

I learned of them while in the lawn at The Woodlands waiting for DMB to take the stage

This band kicks so much ass. NOLA roots. David Shaw is as captivating of a frontman as any others in the biz. Caught em at Bonnaroo about 3 years ago and have seen them several times since. If you like Shaws voice, check out When the Levee Breaks with him fronting Galactic at the 2013?? Wanee. He fucking smokes it. So much energy.

i saw this band last year, without having ever heard a song. it was a ton of fun. i love how they blend different genres in one - its almost like g.love and trombone shorty in one band

Re: The Revivalists

I saw them open for Umphrey's two nights a couple months ago. I honestly enjoyed them more than Umphrey's the first night (2nd night UM blew the roof off). They've got serious potential, the singer is a great frontman and the bands overall sound is fantastic. Will definitely see them again.

Re: The Revivalists

They have a lot of potential. David Shaw is talented, but he needs to grow up and stop acting like he is a white rapper on stage. I'd honestly enjoy the shows more if they put a guitar in his hands more, they tend to jam more when they do so.

Re: The Revivalists

Saw them in cville in the fall, they kicked some serious ass. Definitely worth it going to one of their shows
Must listen to songs:

Soulfight
Criminal
Catching fireflies
When I'm able
Not turn away

There's a lot more but there's a few to get started with

Re: The Revivalists

I'm from Nola and have been to probably 20 - 25 Revivalist shows. I've kind of taken my roots as a DMB fan and carried them over to these guys. I try to tape webcasts when I can, etc. PM to get sum if you like these guys.

Re: The Revivalists

Definitely have more interest in seeing this band live than seeing DMB live.

I'm in a Facebook group with like 50 members that's a Revivalists fan group and somehow David Shaw found out about it, joined the group, and came in to say hi to everyone. Was amazing.
