*The Official: Vote For Me Thread*

We all want to help our fellow Ants win tickets to see and meet dMb. So instead of making threads every time you or a friend are trying to win something go ahead and post it in here. It will not only keep the boards from getting cluttered it will be a central area for fans and friends to help each other out in multiple contests.

Also use this thread for non dmb related contests.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Re: *The Official: Vote For Me Thread*

You've seen these posts, difference with this one is m girl friend has taken it upon herself to start a campaign to try to get me in for my 50th at my hometown venue. And I didn't even ask her to. So she's a winner.

But if feel inclined to click, I'd appreciate it! My gf also gets a kick out of moving up the standings, so it's a win-win even if I don't get picked.

As will the new threads posted. There is a sticky about no new threads on this topic with a redirect here, we've done our part.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE?

Ok people, I swore I was not going to post on any fan sites or blog sites about this, but seeing as I have gotten to within 17th place with over a week to go, I think with some of the kind DMB friends on here, I might just be able to win. I am doing pretty well through FB alone, but with some help, I might just be able to get that push to the front.

What's in it for you? If I win, I will arrange some sort of contest for a lucky winner to win something I have autographed during the meet. It only seems fair that some of you should have a chance to win something for helping!

I hate that I am doing this, and if it werent for me being so close, I probably wouldnt ask. I am just to the point that after attending nearly 90 shows and STILL havent met them, Im feeling that this may be my only chance. Thanks for voting if you do, and be sure to let me know you voted to be involved in the giveaway!

I'm a little late to the table but I would love for your vote. 76 shows since 1994, have never met Dave. Came in the top 100 for the GrooGrux contest but failed just short of the win. #BOSTONSTRONG

None of the people that are asking for votes are active users with the possible exception justin. I will wait for someone that has more than .02 posts per day before casting my ballot.

Question: Do you only decipher active users based on forum posts? I am an antsmarching.org member because I can keep track of my shows and setlists, meet ups before shows, along with the occasional need for selling/buying face value tickets. So am I a less faithful member because of my ability to create so many posts per day? Regardless of your opinion I love Dave, this website, all music and having a good time. :D

Shameless plea for donations

So, here's my plea for donations.
I've mentioned in other threads that I help drive animals that go through PA from a high-kill shelter in SC to rescue groups or private adopters.
The shelter's director works very hard at reducing the kill rate and has a long-term goal of no-kill. Unfortunately, the shelter is in a rural area, so too many animals are turned in, too many animals are not spayed / neutered and the funds they get from the county are REALLY low ($53,000 / year). So, they rely heavily on volunteers (our transport group) and donations.

Right now, they are in dire need of money. There was a shuffle with the board of directors and they lost a major donor. They have a critical plea out for donations so they don't have to have a major PTS (put to sleep).

If anybody here can help donate or share the cause, any little bit helps.
Or, browse animals if you're looking to adopt. :)
http://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?...ort=identifier
Location is not important! We can get the dog / cat anywhere!

I have helped other posters with their own pleas (here's looking at you, canstruction and gaming for charity. hint hint), so I'm hoping there's a few of you that can help a little.

Here's the link to the fundraiser:
http://pledgie.com/campaigns/21018

Fortunately, they were able to surpass the July 28th date without a PTS b/c my transport group has been working tirelessly to find rescue groups for their animals, but they still need to raise funds. Rescues are more likely to take dogs / cats that have a clean vet bill (and many dogs come in injured, pregnant and / or with heartworm), so any little bit helps.

Anyway, the animal discussion in the job / unattractive thread made me think of this.

Re: Shameless plea for donations

I'll plea one more time - if anybody has even an extra $5 they could spare, the pups & kitties would really appreciate it!!

Also, the pledgie increased a bit last night. If it happened to be one of the 40+ people who viewed this thread, but didn't want to post anything, I want to thank you!! :)

Done... very admirable work you are doing. We got both of our dogs from a local shelter who rescues from high-kill shelters in the south. Unfortunately, they had to close for some time due to lack of donations. They've reopened but are only doing spay/neuters at the moment.

I will donate, anything towards better treatment of animals is worth the money!

Thank you so much for your support!! :)

I love transporting the dogs (and cats).
Basically, any cause for animals (or children) gets my support and somehow I latched onto this transport group and shelter and love it!
