This is a maybe for me. I have two young kids and so we would need to work out a babysitting thing or maybe bring them with us but we wouldnt be able to tailgate which would SUCK! So hopefully I can find someone who can sit with them until around midnight!

Cricket shows usually aren't the best. Since the band is usually coming from CA, Phoenix is small potatoes, and so many kids who can't tell the difference between Halloween and Tripping Billies come just to get high

well 2007 got a 5 encore set so the band must dig it

yeah, i've seen them 25 times but all at high caliber venues: msg, spac, fenway etc. i have a friend from home (northeast) who is part of the big group that i go to dmb shows with at home and she goes to UA too and saw them at cricket in 2007 and she said that it was "nothing compared to northeast shows." i'm excited, though. since i can't see msg this year i'm glad i'll be able to see something at all. plus i have a really good feeling about the new cd

I did some research and they've played AZ on the spring tour thrice-- 2002, 1998, and 1995.
In 95, they played Mesa Amp. That was the only year they came back for the summer tour.

So I hate to say it, but unless Cricket sells out or something, I doubt a summer show

i disagree. we got some amazing performances that never get any love on here because they weren't at alpine or the gorge. dancing nancies -> warehouse in 2007 was amazing beyond words along with grace is gone in the 5-song encore. bartender and two step in 2008 were also breathtaking. i agree that the crowd isn't the best but AZ has gotten some unbelievable performances.

My son was 4 when I took him to his first DMB show. He goes with me to every phoenix show since then! We were there in August and we'll be there in May!! Take them with you and sit on the lawn! bring a huge blanket! that's what I did and have done for the past 6 years. He now sits in his own lawn chair. anyways, haven't missed a phoenix/mesa show since 5/14/95...finals or not, we will be there!!

O i can't wait!!! Hate having to wait a full year to see them here.....:multi

2007 was a dream come true...i met a guy that used to work for their stage set up on the east coast. him and his wife with their 2 yr old girl sat next to me and my son on the lawn. me and him danced our asses off and he would start singing the song as soon as he heard the first note. I couldn't believe how long they played! for phoenix, that was a treat because we aren't one of the main venues on the tour and they don't play like that for us on the regular....but every once in a while they surprise us....

They will come back. They love playing "hot ass" phoenix. Dave loves saying how damn hot it is...."but it's a dry heat."

Didn't they play twice in 1996?? They played right before blues traveler on the HORDE tour and then came back to play America West Arena the day after my bday, 11/19....pretty sure it was 96...will have to double check.

so we dont want this to be the laughing stock of the "Officail" threads, Veags already has like 8 pages...lets talk Pregame, Postgame, dream setlists, anything.

Re: ***Cricket Pavillion 2009 Thread***

Pregame is ALWAYS the same! Macayos at like 3 or 4 and then once everyone is 'greased up' we head out to the lot for some pre-show tailgating and then inside for the show.
The group we have is pretty tight and we do the same thing every year! I love these guys!

Re: ***Cricket Pavillion 2009 Thread***

I am actually pretty disappointed at the comments in here right now. All the shows I have seen here at Cricket have been AMAZING! Its always a packed pavillion and I have never had anything but an amazing time!
I realize I have nothing substantial to compare it with since this is the only venue I have seen DMB at but they return here year after year without fail and put on an AMAZING show in my eyes. This is a thread in SUPPORT of the venue and the show and I am sorry but honestly I cant believe the amount of negative comments I see in this thread right now! They out weigh the positive ones!
People FLOCK here to see the show and last year was EPIC! It may not show in the set list but the band was on FIRE and the crowd was stellar. They were reeling from the loss of their friend and though when the came out their beginning was far from fantastic they got the lead out and after a few songs it was far from 'bad' and Carter had a friggin like 5 minute drum solo! I am so un-happy with this thread right now!

I want my daughter to go to a show I do but I am wanting to try the full experience by myself and I have yet to do that. I LOVE Cricket. I have been going to Cricket since like 1993, but not to see DMB. I have seen like 30 acts there and I love it! As an adult I have yet to fully enjoy a show there not having to worry about the tomorrow....
