Love them. Plans is one of my favorite albums of the decade.

Re: Death Cab for Cutie Appreciation
I support this thread. I will never forgive myself for sleeping through their show at bumbershoot right after the Gorge two years ago. :BANG

Yup love death cab. The open door ep is fantastic, better overall than narrow stairs

Re: Death Cab for Cutie Appreciation
Any song recommendations for a new listener? Haven't heard shit from them...the name made me think that they sucked rock hard cock like "Fall out Boy", but ive heard otherwise and would like to try listening.

Re: Death Cab for Cutie Appreciation
Marching Bands of Manhattan is easily my favorite Death Cab song. Also quite possibly my favorite album opener ever.

For those that think their name is weird: it's actually taken from a beatles song so that should ease any of this emo talk

Re: Death Cab for Cutie Appreciation
it still has to be one of the worst band names i've ever heard. whenever i try to tell people about how amazing they are i can always tell i completely lose them when i say their name. his voice takes some getting used to as well. their loss, though.

Re: Death Cab for Cutie Appreciation
one of my favorite bands

Re: Death Cab for Cutie Appreciation

Re: Death Cab for Cutie Appreciation
Top 5 band for me, easily.
|
Re: Death Cab for Cutie Appreciation
haven't heard any of their older stuff besides you can play these songs with chords, and I hate those effects they seem to use on every song on bens vocals. Not impressed with that album, is any of the other pre trans stuff any good?

Re: Death Cab for Cutie Appreciation
I thought Narrow Stairs was excellent. Cath... is incredible, probably my favorite song of theirs. Just some amazing lyrics: "as the flashbulb bursts, she holds a smile / like someone would hold a crying child" -- I remember the first time I heard that and it blew me away.
Also love No Sunlight and I Will Possess Your Heart. Really great album. :thumbsup |
Re: Death Cab for Cutie Appreciation
"Cath..." is quite possibly my favorite song right now. It never gets old for me.
