Hey I saw in the Bethel Woods thread that it takes you 3 hrs to get to Bethel Woods from Boston? Umm... Do you know a secret route to take? Google maps is telling me its gonna take 3hr27min from Springfield, Ma. Please shed some light on the path you will be taking. Ive never been there so I am relying on gmaps

    Hey Catie,
We'll be camping at the Gorge Campground, we got the premier camping this year (first time doing that). I've been Somerville for about a year now, and I lived in Waltham for the better part of six years before this. I went to Bentley then lived off of Lake St. then on Trapelo Rd. near the Belmont line.
Another thing about the packing: you definitely won't be able to bring (or won't need) everything on some of the lists online, but I think I might have a shorter list we made, which I'll send you if I can find it in my email.

    Hey Catie,

We brought sleeping bags and blankets with us, and you definitely will need the blankets. It's basically the desert out there, so temperatures are 90-100 during the day (no humidity though) and they plummet to the high 50's/low 60's at night. I'd also recommend you bring a sweatshirt to the concerts with you, since that's the time the temps are dropping. Type in 98824 for the ZIP on weather.com and you'll see what I mean about the day and night temps. Where are you camping? And which part of Boston do you live in?

    Hey Catie,

Flying into Seattle is definitely the best way to get to the west coast from Boston. This is the third year two of my friends and I have gone, and the past two we flew to Seattle on the Thursday before the weekend. We rented a car right at the airport and stocked up on non-perishables at a Walmart right after landing, spent the night at a hotel in Seattle (great city). On Friday, we left the city around 10am, stopped at a Safeway to get beer, ice, meat to grill, etc. and were at the Gorge by 2 (It's a straight shot East on I-90, just about 2 hours). As far as I know there is no bus that goes from Seattle to the venue, plus you'd be hauling a lot of food, camping gear, etc with you. Last year was a big improvement of 2007 since we knew what we were getting into. We checked a huge cooler onto the plane and packed our tent in that.

I hope this is helpful and definitely feel free to get back to me with any more questions.
    Rob
